The petrichor that enveloped the environment with the first drizzle left everyone around in daze. It hits different and its the most pleasing and comforting smell. The drizzle was drenching everyone beautifully. Except few, everyone enjoyed the very first pour of the rainy season. It was the beginning of the beauty forthcoming. Lush green lands, beautiful blossoming flowers, bees sucking them and buzzing around, colourful butterflies, and some love stories in that. Waiting for the rain to some show mercy on her, Sana stood under the tree, in a high pony tail and round glasses and a bag, after the college gates were finally closed leaving no option for her but the only big and a old tree. She in her mind blessed the person who planted it. She already was drenched a bit, and it was irritating her. All she wanted was to run home, strip off those wet clothes and sip on a hot 'adrak-chai', in her comfy PJs.
Sidharth who was just hanging out with his friends, having a cutting chai, just by chance saw her and since the time he did he has been observing every little moment of her. How she was wiping away the droplets that rested on her face and tugging back the strand that were sticking to her now pink face, how she occassionaly rubbed her arms when the brezee hit her she felt cold, how she corrected her glasses and finally got it out when they irritated her. Every moment of her was making him smile. He found her really cute everytime she corrected her glasses and scrunched her nose. "Cute", he breathed, "Or itni cute ladki ko main akela chod dun not good Sidharth". He looked to his friends who were discussing something not at all important. He cleared his throat and announced with a finality "Tum logo ki bhabhi mil gayi hai" and the group broke in "ooohoooo and kyaa baat hai".
"Kahan hai waise" one voiced.
"Wahan" he pointed her.
"Ohhhh
ek ladki bhigi bhaagi si, soyi raaton main jaagi si
Mili ek ajnabi se
Koi aage na peeche" one out of them sang and they all laughed hard at Sidharth's heated face."Woh de" he asked the boy nearby pointing the umbrella. The boy was lean and shivered at his voice. He immediately handed him the umbrella and ran from there.
With the stone-aged looking umbrella, splashing the water filled pits, he came to stand beside her. She looked at him for a moment, in spectisim, but kept shut.
"Hey", he intiated, getting no reply from her except the same look he got the moment back. "Okay, hello, I am Sidharth", he started again forwarding his hand.
"So", she replied coldly.
"Nothing, just thought you will need a company, with a umbrella to save you from the rain, because it doesn't seem to stop any soon"
"No I don't"
"Of course, you do",
She was getting annoyed at the clingy behaviour. Cursing her luck for the day, she, giving him one last look of disgust, left the place.
"Abbey yeh to naraz ho gayi, bahlai ka toh zaman hi nahi hai", talking to himself he ran behind her and covered her under the umbrella. She was getting annoyed, so she walked faster. He did the same. Repeating the same action before her patience gave up, she stilled and turned to him. He grinned with all his white ivory teeth on display, it irked her more.
"What?" she yelled being frustrated.
"Nothing", smiling he replied.
"Toh kyun aa rahe ho peeche peeche, I am not someone you think of"
"No you are exactly what I think of - angelic and adorable", his mushy statement did something to her cheeks as they turned a little pink. Covering up she again asked the same question "Toh peeche peeche kyun aa rahe ho?"
