*Johnny's Point Of View*
"Hello?"
"Hi, Johnny."
Jang-Mi and I have talked on the phone whenever we are both free. It's nice. She tends to hang out with my members whenever I'm busy but always seems to have the best times. It's so crazy!
Sometimes I pop up right after she leaves. Sometimes if I leave, she pops up. It's almost like the universe doesn't want us to meet either just yet or at all. But they keep letting us have these great conversations.
I wonder what this all means.
"Hey. What's up?"
"Nothing much. Just getting ready for work. What are you doing?"
"We are currently on break. Debating if I want to go grab a snack or send someone else to do it."
"I think you should go get it. Gives you a bit of a breather from being in that building that's practically your home."
"I guess you're right. I'll go on our next break, whenever that is."
"One day, when I'm not busy, I'll come and bring you guys some food and drinks. I don't think your CEO will mind."
Of course he's not! He's trying to get on her good side. It's almost like this company was born in need of the Kim family. Jang-Mi could literally break all his stuff and he was at fault.
"We would love that! Maybe then we can finally meet."
"Right! Our schedules are always clashing. Almost as if the universe is trying to make our meet up epic or not happen at all."
"I literally thought that earlier."
"I'm sure when we meet Jaehyun is going to get mad at you."
"What? Why?"
"Because he was my first friend here in Korea. He introduced me to all these wonderful people and I'm going to have less attention to give him. We have so many in-depth conversations that last for at least an hour, so he will say you're taking me away from him. He tells Dream that all the time," she laughs at the thought of her last statement.
I laugh with her because her laugh makes me laugh.
"I have proclaimed him as one of my future best friends."
"Why future?"
"I think that I need to spend more time with people individually to see where we would stand as friends. Most of the time it's a group of us. I've only spent time alone with him maybe three times. But we talk everyday so that's why I would say he could be for the future."
"What about us?"
"I will say we need to meet in person before I answer that."
"Understandable. People can totally be different in person than they are over the phone."
"Right. And I hope that's not the case for us because I really enjoy talking to you and it would be so upsetting if I didn't like you or you didn't like me."
"That's true. It's nice to talk to someone about things outside of the norm. Even if I talk to you about NCT things, you still get it."
"I always thought celebrities need to have an outlet of where to go where they can't be judged. Especially in groups. It's like yes, they get it but sometimes it feels like a burden added to them and you don't want to do that to them and Vice versa."
Exactly. She gets it. I never want to over stress my members. And other idols probably have it worst than me. I'm not saying that Jang-Mi's life isn't stressful. Look who her grandparents are.
"Oh shoot! Johnny, I have to go or I'm going to be late! Don't forget to go get your snacks and drink on your next break."
"I won't. I promise."
"You've promised now. You break it, I'm going to be sad and give you an ear full."
"Okay," I laugh before hanging up the phone. Although it was short, I needed that.
Thank you, Ollie.
*Olivia's Point Of View*
"You're here," my boss smiles as I walk through the door. I swear he's one of the sweetest old men I've met my entire time here. He makes me feel included and part of a family. Sometimes, he calls me his niece and it warms my heart.
"Of course! I wouldn't miss it for the world."
I finish tying my apron around my waist before going to wash my hands. It's always best to wash your hands before touching anything someone has to consume.
"Today is a little slow so I wanted to show you how to make tiramisu."
The story of Tiramisu is that there once was a solider who had a lover. She was worried that she couldn't make a fully exquisite cake for him before he went to the battlefield. So she mixed together what she had and made it filled with love so she can pass her love onto her lover.
Tiramisu is something I always wanted to make for someone I love in the future so it would be awesome to learn how to make it.
So first, we grabbed five lady fingers and placed them on a plate. The closer together, the better for the cream which is the next step. Once we put a fee scoops on there, it's time to evenly spread it across the fingers. Finally, we add some cocoa powder on top and we are done.
Simple, but can be made a whole lot better if paired with the right from and made with love.
Maybe in the future, I would but the cream in a pipping back and pipe it down the lady finger to give it more of a clean look. But one thing that doesn't change no matter the presentation, is the taste of how amazing Uncle has made everything.
"Wow! This is so yummy."
"One day, I will pass you the recipe."
"Really?"
"Yes," he laughs at my very brightened eyes. I really want to know what's in that cream.
The bell in the on the door rings and I turn my head to the side. I see someone tall walk in. Before I can greet them, I take my gloves off and make it back to the front.
"Hello."
The guy looks at me with a face to say he knows me but I know I have never seen him a day in my life.
"It's you."
"It's me.... how can I help you, sir?" I look down to the computer, ready to start his order.
"You're that girl who worked at that other coffee shop."
"This is my first coffee shop job here sir. I think you have the wrong person. But I can help you with some coffee."
"You don't remember me?"
"Never seen you a day in my life, sir."
He looks at me a little confused but orders a dark roast coffee. As soon as he said it, I turn to him with a smile, "Is that all for you today?"
*Johnny's Point Of View*
I know this is her! This is the girl from last year in America. Why is she here in Korea?
Better yet, how can she not remember me.
Better than that, why do I remember her? I see so many faces all the time. Why do I remember her?
I look dont at her name tag. Rose. I don't remember her name being Rose. I feel like it might be something different. Something that starts with an O.
"No, that's all."
"Alrighty then." She gives me a price and asks for my name.
"Johnny."
"Alright, Mr. Johnny, I'm going to make that for you right now. Just give me a few minutes."
Is that really not her?
