[Chapter Six: The Monster]

Beth let her brother take her home before he took Nancy home. Beth expected him to come right back after helping her inside, but he didn't return.
After Beth showered, she tried to go to sleep, but every time she closed her eyes she just envisioned that monster dragging her brother down to wherever it came from.
After lying awake for almost an hour, she finally dragged herself out of bed and put her clothes back on, before going to the phone in the hallway before realizing that it was gone. Beth cursed under her breath and instead grabbed the extra set of her mom's car keys and put on her jacket before heading out to the car.
Beth slid into the driver's seat before peeling out of the driveway.
She had no idea where she was going but she found herself heading for Steve Harrington's house.
When Beth pulled into his driveway, she looked around confused as if she couldn't believe that she had ended up there. She got out of the car slowly before walking up to the door. She had barely lifted her hand up to knock when she heard another car come into the driveway.
Beth turned around and squinted through the bright headlights to see who it was.
"What the hell are you doing here, Byers?" Steve's voice came from the car as he killed the engine and got out.
"I could ask you the same." Beth said and then winced at how stupid that was, considering it was his house.
"It's my house." Steve replied with a slight laugh.
Beth groaned, "Yeah, I'm aware of that, thank you."
"You didn't answer my question, Byers." Steve said as he walked towards her.
Beth looked everywhere but at him, "I don't know. I couldn't sleep and I just got in the car and drove and ended up here. Okay?"
Steve nodded, "Okay, well, it's late and I haven't really had a good night, so, could you move so I could get in my house?"
