Jay had decided to sit outside of her room since he could remember his first night alone after his tour in Afghanistan. It was the worst, he woke up more times than he could count and it never got better each time he woke up so he decided it would be easier to stay close by.

She had been asleep for around an hour until she woke up screaming and kicking, "hey hey, lil it's okay. Shhhhhh" he said as he ran into her room to hold her. She snapped back into reality and laid back down with jay holding her hand, she calmed down and drifted off to sleep. Jay left to go sit back outside of her room and wait for it to happen again.

About half an hour later she woke up crying, "shhhh, hey shhhhh. I got you, I got you" he ushered her down realising the second time was worse. He stayed with her for longer since it took around 15 minutes for her to stop shaking and trembling, she laid back down to sleep and jay set off walking out of her room to do it all again but he was stopped by her sleepy voice. "Just stay..." she mumbled from the pillow knowing it was probably going to happen again. Jay smiled and sat down on the bed next to her, he didn't lie down since that was just trigger her if he knocked her in her sleep. Instead he sat up and leant against the head board behind him, he watched her fall asleep for the third time and soon dozed off himself.

They both got around 2 hours of sleep until jay was woke up by Ivy mumbling things and squirming around in her sleep, "stop it! Get off me! No...leave me alone!" She shouted in defence, probably to Alex who she was having nightmares about. She was laying down in a ball with her arms raised over her head for protection. "Hey lily, it's me, jay. I got you, you're okay, you're okay" he said while carefully approaching her. Jay knew from past experiences that the physical memories were the worst, it was like reliving every bad feeling. He carefully placed his hand gently on her arm trying not to startle her too much but he knew she was gonna wake up throwing punches so he prepared for a few bruises.

She woke up with a loud cry and her arms and legs swinging in every direction, she hit jay a few times before realising she was home. "I'm sorryyy..." she cried while jay pulled her into a hug. "Shhhhh, it's okay. It's fine, you're at home" he said while holding her. She was shaking and crying but jay didn't let her go, after half an hour the time was roughly 4am. She hadn't move from jays arms and that's how they fell asleep.

Jay woke up at 9:30 am since neither of them had gotten much sleep, he slowly moved lily down into a comfortable position before leaving her to rest. He put the TV on quietly and relaxed for a while, he heard the door open so he turned to see who it was. It was hailey, she knew it was early so she didn't knock and just walked in. "Hey, I fetched you some stuff for lily you know since her stuff was ruined. Figured she might need some more clothes" she explained while putting a duffel bag on jays counter. He smiled and looked at her with tired eyes, "tough night?" Hailey said while getting him a glass of water.

She gave him the glass of water and jay nodded, "yeah, she woke up three times. First time was screaming, second time was crying and the third time was the aggressive episode. It's bad but she'll get better" jay said while taking a refreshing sip. "Is she sleeping now?" Hailey said quietly. Jay nodded and stared at his partner, "If you need anything, call me okay?" She said before heading towards the door to go to work. "I will don't worry" jay said truthfully before waving her out. He was lucky to have found such a caring partner.

About half an hour later he heard ruffling of bed sheets so he thought lily was awake, he heard talking which was odd since she was alone so he went to check on her but before he could make it into the hallway she appeared in front of him with her arms out and her hands in fists, her eyes closed. "I'm clean. I'm not taking it, fuck off!" She shouted at jay. She was sleep walking, another ptsd episode, so jay didn't take any offence to it, he knew that if he woke her up she would punch him so he gently grabbed her arms to try and guide her back to her bed but as he grabbed her arms to turn her around she collapsed to the floor.

"Woah, lily? Hey lil can you hear me?" He said while kneeling to the floor to lean her against him so she wasn't hurting herself. She took a few deep breath's with her eyes still closed before she snapped out of it and woke up with a sudden jerk. "Woah lil take it easy" he said now she was awake and trying to get up. She turned around to look at jay with a confused expression, "why're we on the floor?" She asked cluelessly. Jay smiled weakly at her, "you slept walked" he said. She nodded sadly and jay helped her up, "you want breakfast?" He said while taking her mind of it all. She smiled and nodded, he whipped up some pancake batter and made some choc chip pancakes. "Hailey fetched some clothes over for you..." jay explained what was in the bag since she was eyeing it up.

Lily smiled and opened it up, "I love her, you better wife her up" she randomly blurted out. Jay turned to look at her in shock, "lily!" He exclaimed while throwing a choc chip at her. Lily shrugged her shoulders and laughed, "what?! I see the way you look at each other, I'm not stupid..." she explained before getting up to take the bag to to her room. Jay couldn't even deny that the two didn't have feelings for each other because they did, the job just made it hard to admit, "shut up" he sourly said back with a smirk as she left him to cook the pancakes.
