The Truth Can Sting

Part 3

7pm swung by and it was time for lily and Kevin to go to the frat party, "if you feel like you're in danger, remember the safe word is purple" jay said while placing the wire onto his sisters dress. Lily smiled, "yeah got it". Jay shot her a worried look, "jay I'll be fine, it's part of the job. Now stop worrying" she reassured him. Hailey was sat with them both and she smiled at their close sibling bond, lily left to go talk through the plan with Kevin leaving the two partners alone, "she's not a kid anymore jay, she's a young woman. You gotta let her breath" hailey said while laughing. Jay looked down and smiled, he knew she was telling the truth, "it's my job to worry and in my eyes she's still 15" he admitted. They both laughed at how ridiculous he sounded.

"Alright is everyone set?" Hank double checked. They all gave him the positive and they hopped into the undercover cars apart from Kevin and lily who got into a black Range Rover to fit in with the kids. "Remember, the plan is to get eyes on the suspect and bust him. Nothing more" Hank said through lily and Kevin's ears. They couldn't answer him but they planned on following his orders.

Once they made their way inside they stood at a round table in the corner so they had eyes on the whole room, Kevin was tense and lily noticed him. "You gotta relax Kev" she whispered to him. He nodded and flipped the switch off in his eyes. Kevin decided to stay at the table with his drink since that was the 'manly' thing to at a kids party but lily wandered off into the crowd to dance and blend in, she hoped to stand out and gain the rapists attention.

She was dancing away with a girl who was quite a bit younger than her when she felt a hand grab her arm, "hey baby, you wanna head to the bedroom?" He slurred his words but lily could still understand him. She cringed at his eagerness, "no thanks, I'm good here" she denied his offer. He wasn't really taking no for answer so he grabbed her other arm which knocked her drink from her hand and it smashed to the floor. She scrunched her face up in discomfort since his grip was tight, "I said I'm good, now let go of me" she said while trying to get out of his grip.

Jay and hailey were sat in the back of the van watching the action unfold through Lily's cam, jay was disgusted at the sight of someone harassing his baby sister. He went to get up and open the van door to go and help her but hailey stopped him, "no jay, we gotta let it play out. She hasn't used the safe word yet, she can handle him" she said while gently pushing him back into his chair. Jay hated to hear it but he knew it was the right thing to do.

Kevin was stood at the table watching lily and the man but he couldn't really see what was going on since the crowd was so big. He wanted to go over to see what was going on but he knew if he did it would blow their cover. The man let his grip loosen and lily managed to release her arms from his grasp but he was drunk so when she got away he didn't see where she went which was good. "Lily what just a happened are you good?" Kevin said discreetly. Lily grabbed another drink to use as a prop since she smashed the other, "I'm fine, that's our guy" lily said while scanning the room again. Kevin hadn't seen the mans face clearly so he didn't exactly know who he was looking out for, "what now sarge" lily said while facing the wall so no one would see her.

Jay held his breath hoping that Voight would let them move in, "let it play out, we don't have a reason to move in yet" Hank said. Kevin and lily nodded to each other and lily went back out to the crowd to carry on dancing, Kevin stood talking to a girl. Jay sighed and continued watching full of worry.

Lily had been dancing for a while until she saw the man again with another boy and a young girl. Smoothly, she made her way over to the stairs where they were all standing and played along, "Alex oh my god! I've been looking for you all night!" She lied, she just wanted to get the girl away from the men. Both of the boys shot each other confused looks as the man they were after spoke out, "she's with me" he slurred. Lily fake smiled at him, "well her friends are looking for her, I'll be back in a second!" She shouted over the music and led the young girl over to Kevin.

"Hey, can you call her an ambo. She's took something" lily said while gently passing her over to Kevin who done as she said. When she was in the clear she made her way back over to the men, "so are you guys looking for some fun?" She fake flirted with them. Jay looked at hailey with worry and confusion since that wasn't the plan, he went to get up again and hailey stopped him for the second time, "we gotta wait jay, she's working them. She knows what she's doing" hailey said while patting his shoulder. Jay cupped his mouth in his hands knowing that if she messed up she could get seriously hurt.

The men shot each other a cheeky wink and looked back at lily, "what you thinking?" The suspect growled at her. She regretted asking but she needed to get him off the streets, "how about you follow me upstairs and I'll show you..." she said while making her way up the stairs and dragging the man behind her. The younger man was stood laughing at the bottom of the stairs, she took a deep breath and opened the door to a bedroom before pulling the man inside with her. As she shut the door she felt his hands grab her waist, "not so fast big guy" she said while pushing him off her.

Jay was panicking since she was alone with a rapist who liked to drug girls, he was watching the man stare his little sister down and he couldn't bare it. "Sarge what're we doing?" Jay said through the radio. There was a pause before Hank replied, "get ready to move in but wait for my order" he sighed. The unit all surrounded the exits ready with their guns but they waited until sarge gave them the go ahead.

"Can I have you or not?" The man snapped at her while grabbing her waist again. Lily laughed in disgust but she pushed him away, "I said not so fast" she bit his head off. It reminded her of a time she knew all too well. "Yeah I don't think so..." he said before grabbing her arm and pulling her closer to him.

"Alright move in!" Hank shouted to his detectives as he heard enough. Jay moved in first followed by hailey and olinsky, he made his way straight up the stairs and kicked down the door to the room his sister was locked in. "I said get off me!" Lily said while throwing herself around trying to escape his touch. Jay lowered his gun and threw it to the floor as he ran over to the man, he punched him and knocked him to the floor so lily could free herself. "Hey hey hey, look at me, are you okay?" Jay said while looking into her eyes, she caught her breath back and answered him. "I'm okay, I'm okay..." she said while rubbing her arms. Adam made his way over to the man and dragged him up to cuff him. Jay pulled lily into a big hug, he knew it would've been tough for her to nearly re live so they stayed in a hug for a while until the drunk man turned to face the siblings.

"You would've been so good..." he slurred in Lily's face, she cringed at his breath but jay wasn't having any of it. He lunged at the man and punched him in the stomach before Hank and Kim pulled him back to restrain him. Jay raised his hands in defence to let them know he was calm, he looked over to lily who was still rubbing her arms, "did he hurt you?" He said like the protective big brother he was. She shook her head, "no, he was just strong" she said with a fake smile on her face. Jay knew she was uncomfortable so he lead her outside and gave her his jacket to cover her up. Hank was suspicious about why jay and lily seemed so devastated, he knew it was normal for people to feel overwhelmed after being harassed but lily, she looked used to it and jay, he looked disappointed. He let it slide and let the unit head back to the district. He decided to let them finish up the paperwork in the morning since it was late, hailey joined jay and lily as they walked outside to their cars. "Eventful first day huh?" Hailey said to lily while heading to her car. "Sure was" lily joked sounding slightly relieved it was over. "See you tomorrow hails" jay said she they all got in their cars.
