(Ash's POV)After Cilan left me with Gary, he vanished. I wondered about him for a moment before going back to keeping a eye on Harley. Soon after, there was a commotion. Everyone panicked and sprinted towards the exit. Me and Gary rushed towards Harley and managed to drag him and his father away from the crowd. We took them to his father's study and numerous guards followed. They guarded the door of the study while me and Gary were inside the room trying to calm the father and son. Unlike his usual self, Harley was terrified for some reason.
'It looks as if he has seen ghost...or has he?' I thought.
He refused to move and held onto his father. If you would carefully notice, you would see him slightly trembling. This was a sight unknown to me. It felt like I was seeing a different person.
'I don't think this commotion was something so scary. It couldn't have been scarier than receiving those notes, could it? For the past few days he was unfazed about being threatened, why would he suddenly change?' My thoughts were interrupted by Gary.
"Are you alright? Is there anything that's bothering you?"
Upon being asked, Harley started mumbling. I went and sat next to Gary in order to hear him properly. He was speaking in an extremely low voice but I did manage to make out a few words.
".....is......revenge....kill"
"Do you know if someone wants to kill you?" asked Gary. He nodded his head as he slowly averted his gaze and started staring at the floor.
"Do you why this person wants to kill you?" I asked. He hesitated before answering.
"Because I-" he was cut off by his father who asked us to stop questioning his 'precious' son.
I stared at the father and son for a while before deciding to call Cilan. The call was declined. Where in the world did he run off to?
"Don't you think the father's suspicious?" Gary came to me and asked.
"So you can recognize suspicious behavior and here I thought that you couldn't since you had clearly closed a case of a missing person. You even found a car in lake but you still didn't think of it as suspicious." I replied enjoying the look of annoyance on Gary's face.
I took my phone and tried calling Cilan again. It was the same. He didn't pick it up.
"You are not going to move from here!" I instructed Gary and left the study, rushing towards the hall. I tried calling him once more but it didn't even connect.
I looked around and finally found him sitting on the ground, breathing heavily. He was clutching something in his hand and his phone lay on the floor, broken.
I went up to him and asked him if he was fine as I stretched my hand out. He slapped it away and looked at me. His eyes showcasing anger while his face had turned red. Not only was he heavily breathing but he was also profusely sweating.
"How did your phone break? I tried calling you multiple times"
"It's your fault! If you are so interested in this phone then why don't you get it repaired?" he yelled. It was the first time I had seen him in such a state. First Harley and now Cilan. Why are they acting unusual?
Cilan got up and left. He still clutched onto the object but his broken phone was still lying on the ground. I picked it up and put it in my pocket as I watched him leave.I finally decided to call Drew and report about the incident.
"Thank god that he is safe. His father would have had our heads otherwise", said Drew after I had reported about the incident.
"Hm"
