Hello! This is my first book so I am terribly sorry if it sucks! If you can, please give me constructive criticism. Anyways that is all I have to say, please enjoy!


Kaede's POV

I opened my eyes gasping for air as I instinctively try to grab at the rope that was round my neck, wiggling around. Huh? T-There's no rope? How? I was in the middle of my execution...Then nothing...for a long time too, I was just in a void of thinking. I stopped panicking as I heard noise around me. I sat up to see, pods? Then I saw everyone, some awake some still in a sleeping state. I looked around, now looking for detail. There was doctors, and nurses in the room, They all were watching us wake up and then writing stuff down on a clipboard. Oh, how classical. Did they bring us back from the dead or something? 

Then all I heard was screaming. I whipped my head around to the noise, Kirumi? She looked terrified, she was pale, and screaming. A doctor or two was quickly at her side trying to calm her down. She stopped screaming after a while and started looking around, I guess she died too. I saw everyone else waking up before a doctor walked up to me too.

"Hello, Kaede Akamatsu right?" She said as she stood at the side of my pod.

"Y-Yes that w-ou...ld be m-me" I stuttered to the doctor with my strained voice. I didn't even noticed how much it hurt until I tried to talk. In fact, everything hurts, but mostly my throat.

"Ah good. Everything will be explained to you after you recover physically from the simulation" She said in a very calm manner.

"S-Sim-u...Simulat-ion?" She tried to say but it sounded broken apart and slowed.

"Again, everything will be explained after you recover." She looked up at me with a sympathetic look. Then walked away.

Next thing I know I wake up in...A hospital? Why do I seem to keep teleporting everywhere? I lay there listening to the beeping of the monitor next to me. Beep...Beep...Beep...Beep. Then I heard the door open and close, I turn my head to see a nurse. She was looking down on a clipboard, writing something when she came in. She looked up and had a relived expression.

"You're awake! How are you feeling?" She said in a warm and happy tone. It was rather pleasant then my own voice in my head.

"My th-thro-throat h-hurts...a-a lot." I say, trying to make it sound more together from the last time I talked, but failing.

"That is to be expected the first few days of waking up." She said as she walked up to my side, checking the machines beside and writing down things on her clipboard. Then she turned to me with a warm smile.

"I am guessing you want water?" She asked. She was being very polite, but what else could you expect from a nurse towards their patient.

All I did was nod. She then smiled once more before walking out of the room, leaving me to think. So, that doctor from before said something about a simulation...Wait...WAS THAT ALL A SIMULATION? If that was a simulation...Will everyone still act the same? Are ultimates real? Will I change? What if everyone doesn't get along now? Ugh, thinking about it just hurts my head...I wonder...Is everyone awake? I didn't see Shuichi, Maki, or Himiko move when I was still in the pod room. Are they okay or...maybe, just maybe...are they still in the simulation? That would explain why they didn't move. I was brought back into reality when I heard the door open. It was the nurse with water.

"Here we are." She stated as she handed me the glass. Which I took with two shaky hands, I sat up some to drink it. I took a gulp and sighed, putting the glass into my lap.

"Need anything else? Well if you need any help just press this button." She pointed towards a button on the wall that read "Call For Help". Then she turned and exited quickly. I bet it's because she has more patients.

Man, I just really want to go back to sleep now. But not yet, I have to finish my water! As I thought this I took another gulp, then another, then another, soon enough all the water was gone. I put the glass down on a side table next to my bed. Finally I can go to sleep. I layed down, closed my eyes and got comfy, now I can dream about something nice. Like flowers, and rainbows, and Miu...wait...MIU? My eyes opened quickly as I felt blood rush to my face. I put my hands over my face, now a blushing mess. What do I mean Miu? Why did I think Miu? It's not like I like her, right?...I wonder how's she is doing right now. Wait, no! I mean, ugh! Just go to sleep! You can think about this later!

I wake up the next day, it was full up regular checkups every hour or so. My throat was feeling better too. A few nurses came in and out, a few times they where just trying to get me to talk, so I can rehabilitate my voice. One of the times I asked.

"H-How long w-w-were we sle-eping for?" It still sounded broken apart, but it was less slowed so that is some progress.

"You were out for a couple of months " The nurse said with a calm, steady voice.

A few months? But I was only in the game for a few da- oh. That would explain the void of thinking. Dang, why can't I just get the whole story already! Heal faster me! Heal faster! The rest of the day was filled with sleep, checkups, and trying to get better at talking again. At the end of the day, I was exhausted. From what? Talking. I know my body hasn't done very much for a few months, but jeez was it exhausting. For the next week I was in the hospital, I relearned how to eat physical food and now I could at least stand. I was recovering quickly, well that is what the doctors say. By Wednesday the next week I was able to talk normally, and walk around my room.

Soon I was allowed to leave my room and walk around the hospital freely. I wonder...would everyone else be walking around here or are we all in different places? I hope everyone is recovering quickly! Ah, I can't wait to see everyone! I sat down on a nearby bench, I was on the outside of the hospital getting some fresh air. Then I heard walking, I dismissed it because I've passed multiple people walking around the hospital. Then I heard it, the very distinctive.

"Nishshshshshi."
