Chapter 9

Laylas pov

We all have been practicing a lot lately. The semi finals are next week so we leave for New York City tomorrow. Today I thought it would be best if we took a day off. Nala is getting her school work done before we go.

"Ok I'm done." Nala said getting off her laptop.

"So what do you want to do today?" I asked.

"Um I don't know. Do you want to go on a run?"

"You want to run with me?"

"Yes. We haven't done it in so long."

"Yeah ok."

"Yes!"

"You go get ready and I'm going to see if the crew feels like going too."

"Ok I'm going!" She said excitedly as she headed towards her room.

After I sent out a group message I went and got dressed.

"Are they coming?" Nala asked.

"You know they are." I responded as the door opened.

Raven and Storm walked in.

"Everyone's downstairs stretching. Are y'all ready?" Storm asked.

"Ready?" I asked Nala as she walked over from her laptop.

"Yes let me grab my go pro."

"You love going live don't you?" Raven asked.

"Yes I love being able to show people what we can do." She said connecting it to her and linking it to her computer. "Ok let's go!"

We went downstairs to greet everyone.

"Ok are y'all ready?"I asked.

" Yeah." Was the response I got from everyone.

"Ok I was thinking. We haven't been on a run in awhile so why not test everyone."

"What do you have in mind?" Damon asked.

"How about a race? We all race to the park on 5th street. Last one there has to buy lunch."

"I'm down."

"Me too."

I got as responses while everyone else agreed.

"Ok so should we start up top?"

"Hell Yeah!" Andre said.

"Ok let's go." I said as we headed across the street and started heading up the stairs.

We made it to the 6th floor of the building and got in a line side by side. We all started stretching.

"You think you can keep up?" I asked Nala.

"I am your blood."

"That you are. Are you guys ready?"

"Yeah." Phoenix answered.

"You're going down today little mama." Ryder said.

I laughed. "Try to keep up. Go!"

We all took off running and jumping over things on the top of buildings. We jumped building to building with no problem After about five buildings it was time to descend. We started jumping over the edge and grabbing the stair railing. I was in the lead with Nala following close behind. I started jumping side to wide grabbing the railing each time until I made it to the ground. Then I took off across the street with everyone behind me. We had to cross a bridge to get to 5th street park. I grabbed the side of the overhang on one side of the bridge and ran up it. The girls followed while the guys took the other side. We could hear people shouting at us as cars honked. When we got to the other side we slid down until we landed back on the ground. We had two blocks left until we made it to the park. There was a traffic jam so we started running and jumping over cars. There was a lot of mad people but we didn't stop. I was the first to the park with Nala right behind me. We sat down at a bench and waited for the others to catch up. We didn't have to wait long since they were right behind us. Damon was the last one.
