Chapter Twenty :

The next morning, the group were all taken to the nearest hospital back in the city. Piper was taken to get an ultrasound, Toby was taken to get his cuts and bruises checked out, and Asher was getting his shoulder treated. Brantley was in the waiting room as he had just woken up from a nap, and realized everyone else was gone. Ruby had gone to see Toby, O'Shay went to see Asher, and Tyler was with Piper. Brantley gets up and goes to give Toby a visit.

Brantley : Hey stranger.
Toby : Hey little man.
Ruby : Remember what I said. I'll leave you two alone. I'm going to check up on the others.
Toby : Okay, thanks.
Brantley : So how are you feeling?
Toby : I feel great. Do I look like a badass? Any scars on me?
Brantley : Nope, just a lot of bruising. That should go away soon.
Toby : You should of seen how I took Caleb down.
Brantley : Why? I never asked you, why did you go crazy on him.
Toby : Do you really want to know?
Brantley : Tell me.
Toby : I never liked him, from day one. I just knew that he only wanted sex from you. You are way more worth than that.
Brantley : Thanks... but violence isn't the answer to everything Toby!
Toby : Are we just going to ignore the fact you pretty much left Caleb to die?

Toby laughs and caressed Brantley's face. Brantley blushes as he sits on the bed and softly holds Toby's hand. Staring into each other's eyes and smiling, Toby sits up and begins to confess,

Toby : Brantley?
Brantley : Yeah?
Toby : There's something I've been keeping from you. I need to tell you now.
Brantley : Uh, what's up?
Toby : Asher has a interesting birthmark. You should go check it out sometime...
Brantley : Okay? Weird, but okay.
Toby : Once you see, you'll see what I mean.

Brantley raises an eyebrow as Toby sighs and closes his eyes. Brantley kisses Toby on his hand and slowly gets up from the bed. He then walks to Piper's room as he sees Tyler and Ruby sitting.

Piper : The baby is perfectly fine.
Tyler : She.
Brantley : We're having a girl?!
Ruby : We're having a girl! Yes!
Piper : The Gynecologist said that during the incident, I was just under a lot of stress and that's what caused it. I just have another life growing inside me, so a little blood discharge is normal.
Tyler : Babe, I love you so much.
Piper : I love you too. I'm just waiting for the doctor to come back, and to give me permission to leave.
Brantley : Well that's awesome!
Ruby : Has anyone seen Asher yet?
Brantley : I was about to, wanna come with me?

Ruby nods as they both hug Piper and Tyler, congratulating them once again. Ruby looks at Brantley smiling, as he raises his eyebrow confused. Before entering the Asher's room, O'Shay comes out of the room.

O'Shay : The arrow is out.
Brantley : That's good.
Ruby : Is he still in pain?
O'Shay : He's just in pain and discomfort, but he'll be just fine.
Brantley : Is it okay if I go see him?
O'Shay : Go ahead.

Brantley smiles and enters as he hugs Asher tight. Asher smiles and hugs Brantley back, as they both talk while sitting.

Brantley : How are you feeling?
Asher : I'm feeling better, thanks. How's Piper?
Brantley : She's doing good, the baby is doing good. Well, she is doing good.
Asher : It's a girl?
Brantley : Yeah, I'm so excited.
Asher : Oh my gosh, that's great!

Brantley looks at Asher's shirtless body and notices Asher covering his tummy. Brantley raises an eyebrow and looks Asher in the eyes.

Brantley : What's wrong?
Asher : Nothing. Why?
Brantley : Does your tummy hurt?
Asher : Oh, no. It's not that.
Brantley : Well are you hurting?
Asher : No, nothing like that.
Brantley : What is it?
Asher : It's nothing.
Brantley : Show me.

Asher's heart begins to beat fast, as his anxiety kicks in. He starts to sweat from panic, then he slowly removes his hand. Brantley's eyes widen and he gasps as he see's Asher's birthmark beneath his bellybutton. Brantley then raises his shirt as he points at Asher.

Brantley : Your birthmark. That. That looks like mine.
Asher : Oh... is it? Cool!
Brantley : Yeah look. Mine is here too, same shape and area.
Brantley : Wait a second...
Asher : W-What's up?
Brantley : We have the same birthmark and we look so alike? That can not be a coincidence.
Asher : Oh?
Brantley : Asher, what if you and I... are somehow related?
Asher : What the hell are you talking about? Brantley that doesn't make any sen-
Brantley : You and I look alike, we have the same birthmark in the same area, you're probably some distant cousin of mine or something. Oh! Does the last name Morris or Lopez mean anything to-
Asher : Brantley. Enough. I'm sorry.

Brantley raises an eye as he stands up and looks at Asher confused. Ruby and O'Shay walk in as they hear Asher. They both look at Asher concerned, Asher looks at them both and shakes his head. Ruby sighs, nods, and takes O'Shay outside the room with her. Brantley laughs and looks back at Asher,

Brantley : What the hell is going on?
Asher : There's something I should tell you, I need to tell you.
Brantley : What's that?
Asher : I've been lying to you.
Brantley : About?
Asher : Rodolfo Morris is my... our father. You and I are half brothers.
