Chapter Fourteen :

Hours after everyone has eaten, Caleb smiles and pulls out alcohol and some plastic cups. Toby smiles at Caleb and offers to clean up the table, Caleb shakes his head and pats his back as he hands him a cup. Sitting down, biting on her lower lip, Ruby stands up and whispers into Toby's ear,

Ruby : Let's not fuck things up tonight.
Toby : I'll try not to.

Tyler holds Piper's hands as she smiles and looks at Caleb handing Tyler a cup. Piper smiles and politely shakes her head, rejecting a cup. Caleb smirks at her and smiles.

Caleb : You don't drink or what?
Ruby : Oh yeah she drinks. This bitch can finish two bottles in one night.
Caleb : Then?
Piper : I just don't want to drink tonight. Sorry guys, but you guys drink.
O'Shay : Damn come on girl.
Tyler : If she doesn't want to, she doesn't want to. Don't pressure her.

O'Shay raises his eyebrows and rolls his eyes. He then walks towards Caleb as he has all the drinks in the cooler.

Caleb : Alright so I have beer, tequila, and some seagrams in the fridge. I'm thinking Toby can help me get the fire started outside?
Brantley : I can help too.
Toby : No, stay inside.
Caleb : Don't worry. It'll only be a minute.

Brantley nods at them both, as they go outside. Ruby takes her phone out and scrolls through her social media in the mean time.

Ruby : Hey guys.
O'Shay : Yeah?
Tyler : What's up?
Ruby : Remember that guy, Paul?
Piper : Paul? Yeah.
Asher : Who's Paul?
Tyler : Some guy we went to school with.
Brantley : What about him?
Ruby : Look what he's been up to.

Ruby laughs and plays a video, as it shows Paul and some girl having sex at a gym. The group gasp and laugh, as they watch the video.

Asher : Oh god!
Brantley : Is he into porn now, or what?
Piper : He seems like he knows what he's doing.
Ruby : He does it for money. He has people pay him to see him fuck a bitch.
O'Shay : That's my type
Asher : Oh really?

The group laughs as Caleb and Toby come back inside. Toby sits with Ruby as they have a guilty look on their face, while Asher smiles at Brantley.

Asher : Hey Brantley?
Brantley : What's up?
Asher : You're Twenty, right?
Brantley : Yeah, why?
Asher : Just wondering. Still wanna get to know you.
Brantley : Oh, if you want we can talk tonight.
O'Shay : I'm not sure that's a good id-
Brantley : Relax, I'm not gonna take your boyfriend. He's not going to cheat on you.

The group remain quiet as they stand up and grab their own drinks. Tyler grabs a water for him and Piper. Caleb heads back outside as he shouts,

Caleb : The bonfire is ready guys!
Ruby : Okay!
Toby : Brantley, you coming?
Brantley : Yeah, in a second. Asher and I are going to talk for a bit.
Asher : We will be there.
O'Shay : Okay.

Brantley and Asher sit on the bed as they smile and watch everyone. Outside, Piper drinks her bottle of water and smiles as she notices Ruby looking at her. Caleb smiles at the guys as he points at the barn, explaining the animals he kept. Trying to ignore her stare, Piper sighs and looks at Ruby.

Piper : Oh my freaking hell. What?
Ruby : You and I are best friends.
Piper : Yes I know that silly.
Ruby : You wouldn't lie to me, would you? Or keep things from me?
Piper : What are you referring to?
Ruby : Piper. I've seen you naked before. I know you really well. All I'm saying is, you wouldn't keep things from me, right? Such as news.... or a little bun in your oven?
Piper : Excuse me?
Ruby : Quit the bullshit, how far along are you?
