The World Flipped Upside Down

~Finn's POV~

Marceline and I got out of the shower and dried off, I was still blushing a bit as I helped her get wrapped up in a towel. We dried off and then changed into some comfortable house clothes. Marceline changed into a baggie t-shirt that she had often used as Pajamas and I changed into my baggy blue sweats. She decided to grab a movie off the shelf and put it in the player. We laid in bed cuddling. 

 "Marceline," I said softly. "I really think I could lay here forever with you..." 

 "Yeah Finn, me too..." she said with a gentle smile. I felt my eyes get heavy as I began to drift off to sleep holding my Marceline...

 "FINN! FINN, WAKE UP!!! OH PLEASE WAKE UP!!!" I heard a voice calling to me. It was Bubblegum. My mind immediately went into fight or flight and I shot up out of bed. But I wasn't in Marceline's bed where I had fallen asleep... I was in the treehouse... and it was daytime? I shielded my eyes from the bright light that I hadn't seen in months... 

 "Oh! Thank Glob! There he is!!!" Jake hugged me hard wrapping his stretch arms around me a few times. 

 "WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!?" I looked around me and there was Jake, Bubblegum, and Marceline... 

 "Shhhh Finn it's okay," Bubblegum assured me but I pulled back from her, still scared from our last encounter. 

 "Marceline what's going on?!" I asked her, I could hear the panic in my voice... 

 "What do you mean Finn? You've been sick... We all thought you were gonna die... you asked me to turn you into a vampire and then you passed out... don't you remember?..." 

 "But... that— that was months ago..." I stuttered disoriented and confused. 

 "No Finn, that was last night..." Bubblegum said a bit confused. "But this morning I found an ancient cure and gave it to you. And look you're okay!" 

 "Yea, silly! I don't have to turn you into a vampire at all!" Marceline said to me smiling. "You can still be Finn the Human and protect all of Ooo and be our hero!" I saw her wipe a tear from her eye. 

 "But— no... I went to bed in your bed last night... I was a vampire..." they all looked at me confused.

 "Finn you must have had some weird fever dreams last night..." Jake said looking at me a bit funny. 

 "NO IT WAS REAL I WAS A VAMPIRE! I WAS LIVING WITH YOU MARCY!" I yelled as I pointed to her, then I turned and pointed to Jake "AND YOU, YOU WENT TO LIVE WITH LADY RAINICORN AND SOLD THE TREEHOUSE!" Then I turned and looked at Bubblegum with rage "AND YOU ATTACKED ME AND KNOCKED ME UNCONSCIOUS!!!" They all looked at me stunned, and like I was crazy. "IT WAS REAL I KNOW IT WAS!!!" 

 "Finn calm down!!!" Jake yelled wrapping back around me to try to settle me down! 

 "IT WAS ALL REAL, AND I LOVE YOU MARCELINE!!!" Marceline looked at me almost fearfully...

 "What the fuck are you talking about Finn?!? You're nuts!" She yelled at me she got up and left the room without a second glance. I felt my heart shatter... 

I looked across the room into my mirror and I saw myself... I wasn't a pale gray like I had been... I was my normal light pink color, and my nose and eyes were puffy and red like I had a cold... I was indeed Human... 

Had everything I experienced for the last few months was a lie?... a dream?... Being turned into a vampire? Getting attacked by Bubblegum and put into a coma? Being head over heels in love with Marceline... it was all over. Nothing was real. My world had been flipped upside down yet again, but this time I didn't like what was left for me. 

I guess not all stories have a happy ending.
