Y/n's POV

My heart was racing against my chest as I reached my house, I slowly opened the front door walking in.

"Where were you."

I jumped looking towards him, he was leaned against his office door with a cup of what looked like scotch.

"I told you I was taking a walk-"

"Y/n...listen to me..you can't lie to me where were you?"

I sat my bag down slowly while clearing my throat.

"Well I met up with my assignment partner.."

"Is that what you're going with?"

"I guess.."

I said avoiding his stare, his footsteps creaked against the floor as he walked over to me.

"We're you..anywhere near that cafe today?"

"Oh no..nope I haven't been there in hmmm...weeks?"

He nodded sipping his drink staring at me.

"Really?"

"Yeah...yeah-"

"Because I just had to save our asses! Do you realize the trouble you've just caused me!?"

I jumped at his sudden voice change.

"What are you talking about.."

"Let me refresh your memory since you seemed to be having trouble remembering."

He turned around walking into his office grabbing something off his desk turning back to me, he held up pictures from the security camera. It was of me and Billie hovering the counter, the next picture was of Billie jumping over the counter.

"Oh.."

Was all I said as I stared at the pictures, he lied to lure me home.

"Do you realize how serious this is!?"

"Dad please-"

"No! Don't you dare! This is beyond forgivable. I could lose my job!"

I looked at him confused on what he meant, how could he lose his job?

"Why would you lose your job.."

"You're my kid Y/n. This is my name on the line! The police came knocking on the front door...showed me these!"

He said throwing them in my face, I closed my eyes taking a deep breath.

"I had to pay them to keep quiet..do you know how much shit! I will be in if my office finds out I payed off the sheriffs department!?"

"I'm sorry.."

He threw his now empty glass on the ground, the glass shattering echoed through the whole downstairs.
