"(y/n) stop running away from me"

"You lied to me Nick and I trusted you" I turn around to face him. He's covered in sweat and wears nothing but jeans and an open shirt.

"I'm sorry, please just listen to me"

"Why would I? So you can lie again? How do you think that makes me feel Nick?"

"Can you calm down, it's important!" He yells and people look at us before going back to their own business.

"What?"

"You need to get your family to the desert it's not safe in the city anymore"

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"You saw the videos right? How they shot multiple people but they kept coming back"

"Yeah but it was obviously fake" I say, turning around to keep walking.

"It's not fake! I saw it!" Once again people look at us but this time their faces got scared. "It happened to Calvin, please (y/n) trust me, if you don't, ask my mom"

"You're a stoner Nick of course I don't trust you!"

"Then come with me, please" He say and reach out his hand. I brush it of and walk with him to his house. It was a quiet walk, he tried to make it lighter but I wasn't in the mood.

"(y/n) what are you doing here?" Alicia ask when we walk up their driveway.

"Non of you business little sis"

"Where's your mom?"

"Kitchen" Alicia tells me and nod for us to go inside.

"Mom?"

"Honey I told you not to leave the house!"

"I know I know but I had to warn (y/n)"

"This is bullshit right Madison?" I say and she stays silent. "It can't be true!"

"It is, I saw it" My whole life flash before my eyes and I fell to the floor sobbing. Nick held me in his arms telling me things were going to be okey, but they'll never be the same again.

I finish my tea looking out side, seeing how the neighbors knew nothing, planing birthday parties and walking their dogs.

"(y/n)" I hear a voice.

"Let me drive you home"

"Thank you Madison" I put down the mug and take my jacket on.

"Nick keep her here" Madison tell her son when we get in the car.

As we got in to the city we saw the caos, cars burning, people running, screaming, destroying everything. Then I see them, my parents slowly walking down the street.

"There they are" I say and point at them. Madison drive closer. When I call their names they just look at me and keep walking so I call them again. My mom looks pale and has blood running out of her head. My dad as a metal thing stuck in his leg. I call their names again and again and again, panicking.

"Honey... they're gone"

"No... no no no!" I yell confused in panic. I call out their names one more time. This time they start walking towards me. I smile for a moment before my dad takes my arm and bite it. I scream in pain and Madison fight him off. Then drives back to where we came from. I sit in the car, choked over what just happened, knowing my parents are dead but still walking, knowing I'll probably turn in to one of those things. "I'm not going to get through this am I?"
I say and face Madison. I've known her for years she's like my stepmom.

"No honey, I'm sorry" She respond, her eyes watering.

"Don't let me become one of them, when it's time, kill me"

"I don't think I can't do that"

"Please, don't let Nick do it I don't want him to go down that path"

"Okey" The rest of the car trip we stay silent, thinking about how the world is going to change over night and how I won't stay alive to see it grow back.
