Ember's POV

As Hawk lead me towards the stairs I couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with how this day had turned out and the idea of sleeping in the same room of this man who looked like a rugged Greek god. Hawk led us down a long hallway. He stopped next to a door suddenly and turned to me. He almost looked nervous. "This is my room. Since I'm the president it's the largest one here and is more like a small apartment." He informed me as he unlocked the door. I stepped in and looked around. I was surprised to see he kept it tidy. There was a small living room with a kitchenette as soon as we walked in and I could see through a different doorway that there was a bedroom.

"It's nice." I informed him quickly with a small smile as I could see he was waiting for my reaction. He seemed to lose some of the tension in him at my comment. "How long do you think all of this going to take? Cass and I have jobs and lives to get back to in St. Louis. What are y'all planning to do" I queried. The tension he had lost came right back at my question.

"I'm not sure how long it will take." He took a deep breath. "This has been going on a long time, the feud with the Devil's Runners. We want to try and end it this time. We do not discuss what we discussed in Church with women." His response definitely rubbed me the wrong way. So because of my gender I don't deserve to be kept in the loop. I rolled my eyes and began to walk away from him. He grabbed my wrist though preventing me from leaving him. "It's not you. This is just how the club works. It's a brotherhood and we've all earned our right to be in that room. Telling you would break my word to my brothers. Plus if keeps you safe if anything cops were to get involved you have deniability by being kept in the dark." He pleaded with me through his eyes as he spoke urging me to understand.

I sighed, "I understand. I suppose, but if it is a decision regarding Cass and I then you need to discuss it with us."

"I can try and do that, but I need you to know that if it concerns your safety than I am going to make the decision with or without you're okay," was his reply. I didn't like it but I don't think arguing with him about it was going to get us anywhere, these men and their alpha male biker ways. "I had a prospect bring up your bags in stick them in my room. You can use the bathroom that is through the bedroom." I nodded and thanked him as I made my way towards the bedroom.

As I was getting ready for bed I tried to push away the thoughts swirling around inside of my head in regard to Hawk. He was so protective and tender with me. His possessiveness he had shown throughout the day had made my head spin. I've never been attracted to the alpha male type but with him there seemed to be an exception. Though I know he would never look at me that way. I saw those clubwhores they're all stick thin and blonde haired. I stared at my chubby waist and brown curls in the mirror. I'm definitely not his type and I do not fit into this biker world. I sighed and continued on with my night time routine.

Coming out of the bathroom I was met with a shirtless Hawk longing on his bed with sweatpants low on his hips showing off his 8 pack and tattoos. Oh I would love to lick my way around those muscles and trace the outline of those tattoos. I looked up to his face to see him smirking catching me checking him out.

He smirked, "Babe, feel free to check me out anytime you want." He stood up from the bed and began to walk towards me. I froze. When he reached me he took a piece of my curly hair and tucked it behind my ear before smirking again and heading into the bathroom.

When the door to the bathroom closed I breathed a sigh of relief and held my hand to my ponding heart trying to calm down. I snagged a pillow from the bed and went to the couch to settle in for the night.

I had just gotten settled on the couch when I heard Hawk's panicked voice, "Ember! Where are you?"

"I'm in here," I calmly replied, why is he freaking out?

Hawk came dashing into the living room. When he saw me relief washed over his face and then his look turned into a frown. "What are you doing out here?" He asked me as if I was the one behaving ridiculously.

"Settling in to sleep, I'm tired and didn't realize you had more that you wanted to discuss with me." I replied.

He heaved a frustrated sigh, walked over to me, and proceeded to pick me up. I squealed, "Stop! I'm too heavy!" He fixed me with a hard look that made me shut my mouth tight.

He carried me into his bedroom and gently deposited me onto his bed. He pulled the covers back and stuck me under them. Then he crawled in beside me pulling me to his chest.

"You'll be sleeping here, in my bed, and in my arms." He informed sternly in my ear. Then he added, "And I never want to hear you say that you are too heavy again or I will have to punish you." My eyes widened at that last bit. I felt something deep in my core with the idea of him punishing me but I did not want to analyze it right now. "Now go to sleep." I cuddled back into his chest further soaking up the warmth he was offering me. As I began to drift off I could have sworn I heard him whisper. "I will always protect you my beautiful Flame." But that had to have just been the start of a dream, right?

Hawk POV

I heard my cellphone go off telling me I had a text. I looked over to make sure my Flame was still asleep. She was. I thought back to earlier how she had mentioned her life back home and needing to get back to it. Something was crushed in my chest at the thought of her leaving. I saw that it was after 2am and I had a text from Screw.

Screw: We have a DR. Already have him in the basement. Wait until you see who we nabbed.

Hawk: Good. Have you started questioning him yet?

Screw: No, we were waiting on your orders, but Blade is itching to get his hands on him.

Hawk: Alright, give me 5 and I'll be down there. Text Gage & Buster to come too.

Screw. Got it Prez.

I peeked over at Ember again to ensure she was still asleep and then I began to gather my clothes and things so I could head down to the basement. Stepping out into the Hall I saw Gage coming out of his room across from mine at the same time. We nodded to each other and began making our way downstairs. Buster was waiting at the bottom of the stairs waiting for us.

"How are we going to go about this Prez?" Buster asked as we made it to the bottom.

"I think we let Blade do his thing and we ask questions." I knew releasing Blade on that man was a gamble sometimes he tended to a get a little carried away, but hopefully his reputation precedes him and the guy will be willing to give up more knowing what is in store for him if he doesn't.

"Do you think that is wise? We don't want to lose the guy before we get the answers we need." Gage questioned me.

"I think Blade is our best shot and I think you want answers as badly as I do." I directed my last statement at Gage and saw in his reaction that I was correct.

We turned and made our way to the basement door together. Our basement held rooms to keep prisoners and interrogate people when necessary, a gym for brothers to work out who don't want to go all the way to the one we own in town, and a gun range so we can all keep up our skills. We made our way down the stairs and headed towards the rooms we use for interrogation. We went to the only door that was closed and I knocked 3 times. The door opened and Screw peered out at us before he fully opened the door letting us in.

Before us was Snake tied to a chair.
