~~Tim's point of view~~
Luka and the girls came home. They cooked a quick dinner. We ate then Pepper started getting Paxtyn ready. She gave me my clothes, and I went into the bathroom and changed. I won't lie and say that I am not nervous about going to this dance. Liberty said something was going to happen. I have no reason not to believe her.
I finish getting ready and make my way to their living room. I fully expect the guys to make fun of my shirt. I'll take it. I'll do anything for my daughter. Hell, I'd do anything for anyone in this house. It may sound stupid, but four years later, I still feel like I need to prove my worth. I know that I don't, but I never take them for granted.
Sebastian: "You look good, Tim."
Tim: "Thank you."
Luka: "Pepper did well with matching your shirt and tie to Paxtyn's dress."
Tim: "I haven't seen it."
Luka: "She didn't want you to say no."
I laugh.
Tim: "Like I would ever tell Pepper no."
Pepper: "Right!"
I turn to her voice and see Paxtyn in her dress.
Tim: "You look like a princess Paxtyn."
Paxtyn: "That's what Mommy said to."
Phoenix: "You look pretty, Paxtyn."
Paxtyn: "Thank you."
Pepper: "You two better go. By the time you get there, it will already be started."
Paxtyn gives all the adults hugs, and we leave. As we get closer to the school, my heart beats faster and faster in my chest. I have no idea why I am letting this freak me out. It is, though. A simple dream has taken over my life for two days; I wanted this night to be a good bonding night with my daughter. I don't know how good it's going to turn out to be.
I can't get my head out of my ass, and that isn't fair to my daughter. She deserves better than a dad who is only half paying attention. We make it to the school safely; I take a deep breath. I will do this for my daughter. I have to do this for my daughter; I get out and open her door for her.
Tim: "You are going to have to teach me how to dance. I don't know how."
I know how to dance. Pepper and I used to go dancing all the time. I know Paxtyn doesn't know how. I don't want her to be embarrassed about it. If this dance is any like we had in school, the kids just stand around and talk. When I was in school, we didn't have things like this.
