My name is Liberty Marie wild. I am seventeen years old. My parents are taking me to see the mountains at the state park. I am a bit of a nerd. I like things like that. I am a straight-A student, and I am likely to get a scholarship.
We make it to the park and have been walking around for hours. We were headed back to the car when we felt what we thought was an earthquake. That was not the case. The next thing I know, my parents and I are trapped under a boulder that has fallen. I can't breathe. My world goes black.
When I open my eyes, I see green grass, grass-covered mountains, and a lake the never ends with a bright light shining down. I must be dreaming. The light is inviting.
I have to swim to get there; I am a good swimmer. I am on the swim team at school. I swim to the light. As I get to it, I feel like my body is levitating.
I then find myself on solid ground. It looks the same as home, but this isn't my home. It's a normal city, but it's not Salt Lake. I see a man walk up to me. He stands there and looks at me; he eyes me up and down.
Joseph: "How did you get here?"
Liberty: "I swam to the light and ended up here."
Joseph: "You swam toward the light?"
Liberty: "Yes."
Joseph: "I'm Joseph. You must be Liberty."
Liberty: "I am. How did you know?"
Joseph: "I just met your parents."
Liberty: "Oh, ok."
He leads me to a gold gate.
He picks up a phone on the side of the gate. I hear him talking but can't hear or understand what he is saying. That is until....
~~
Joseph: "ARE YOU SERIOUS?"
Joseph: "Why him every time?"
Joseph: "No, sir. I'm sorry. I will lead her there."
