"Watch out, Delta, incoming Centaur."

"We asked for an evac, not a drop off!" Marcus growled.

Jack uncloaked himself and dropped down his video screen. On it, was Hoffman.

"Change of plans, Delta, your mission has been updated. Operation Hollow Storm is still on. Unfortunatly, we recieved insufficient data on the locust stronghold. Chairmen Prescott uncovered some information at a nearby abandoned COG base, about the underground tunnels, and the locust queen." Hoffman stated bluntly.

"I'm sorry, Prescott uncovered it?.. and what do you mean a Locust queen?" Marcus asked sternly.

"Everything is currently on a need to know basis, Delta. Now get going, and report your findings. Command out."

With that, Jack put his video screen away and disconnected with Hoffman. We all looked around at each other, in shock.

"Is anyone else's bullshit detector going off?" Baird asked, shaking his head.

"Marcus, man, this shit sounds sketch." Cole added.

"It does, but we dont have a choice. Let's head out." Marcus sighed, getting into the Centaur.

The rest of us followed suit, getting situated in the Centaur. Marcus took the wheel, as the rest of us seated ourselves. Jack provided us the coordinates to our new destination, and we were off. I seated myself next to Dom, across from Baird and Cole. I was still picking riftworm bits from my leg armor.  I sighed, looking around the centaur, and at the others.

"Hey.. You ok?" Dom asked, "Everything moved really fast, didnt get a chance to check up on you."

"Yeah, I'm alright.. still.. processing the last few hours.." I replied, "Not how I had hoped the mission would go.."

"I can imagine.. I'm sorry. No one deserves that." Dom said, patting my back.

I looked over at Baird, "What about you? I know the Locust took you too.."

"They only locked me up. They didnt touch me otherwise." Baird replied, "What were they even doing to you? To the others?"

"Torturing us.. sending some to work, as slaves.. mining rock, digging out alcoves.." I replied, "Mostly COG soldiers.. but I saw a few stranded in the mix.. it looks like theyve been doing this for awhile.."

"Why would the locust start taking prisoners? What benefit does that give them?" Dom asked

"I dont know.. but I'm pretty sure it's a fear tactic." I stated, "But who knows..

"Well whatever it is.. it changes how we should approach destroying the hollow." Baird said, "I may be an asshole, but even I know that destroying the Hollow with civilians inside, and other soldiers, isnt the best idea."

"I agree.. so let's hope Hoffman and Prescott see it the same way." I sighed.

"Hoffman would. I think." Cole added, "Prescott though? I dont think he gives a shit about any of us."

"Prescott is an asshole." Dom stated, "Even more than you, Baird." He laughed.

"Ha. Whatever." Baird said, rolling his eyes.
