Chapter 4 - A Video For Alex

It has been around 1 week since my birthday, since I decided to stay, since I moved in with Jane and since Emily broke up with Mitch. I was sitting in Mitch and Jerome's apartment, Jane and Mitch were at lunch and Jerome was recording. I am just listening to some Paramore and Fall Out Boy.

Jerome walks in and says "Hey, I'm board" I smile and say "Nice to meet you Board" he laughs and lays down on the couch, putting his head in my lap. I run my hands through his hair absent mindedly and he says "Wanna make a video?" my eyes widen and I look down at him "I can make a video to Alex!" I say.

We set up clogging stuff and Jerome starts just on himself "Hey guys what's up Jerome here and today I'm doing a random vlog. I am joined here by a friend her name is Logan" he says. I step on camera "I know you may be wondering, who is she, are you dating? Why does she have a million tattoos? As I said before she is a friend and no we are not dating." he continues

I speak "I have a message for my brother, Alex, I am okay and I will try to find you soon, hang in there" Jerome smiles then gives a tour of the appartment me appearing every so often. Jerome posts it and Jane and Mitch come back. I sit on the couch and droll through comments. I saw one that caught my eye.

I read it and tears come to my eyes, I use Jerome's account to private message him it read 'I will try, for you but I'm not staying' I type and put it in. Jerome walks in and sees me he reads what I said. He smiles and hugs me saying "We will find a way for you to see him again" i don't let the tears spill as I haven't since the night before my 18th birthday. I stand up, still in Jerome's arms and walk back out.

We were on the couch again with Jerome's head in my lap and me running my hands through his hair. He dozes off and I put on music. I don't notice and Mitch walks over smiling at us I turn off my music and say "Sh.. He's sleeping". He laughs and yells "Apartments On Fire!!!!" Jerome jumps up but I calm him down and he turns to Mitch and says "Fuck You"

He lays his head back in my lap and I laugh, returning to running my hand through his hair. "How was lunch?" I ask. He shrugs and says "It was fine". I shake my head and look down at Jerome who was looking at Mitch. He looks at me and whispers in my ear "He likes her" I nod. Mitch looks at us and says "How was your afternoon?" he asks.

I shrug "Jerome was asleep for most of it" I say. He laughs and grabs the TV remote, he turns on the TV and I get up, moving Jerome's head. "I should go" I say. They nod and I leave, driving back to the apartment in Jane's car. Jane is smiling on the couch and I lock the door, I say "Seems like someone's happy" she laughs and blushes.

I raise my eyebrows and she says "At lunch Mitch asked me out!". I tilt my head "he said it was fine when I asked." she smiles and says "Yes, I knew it, you were with Jerome today" I roll my eyes "Whatever, I'm gonna look at jobs" I say. If I'm going to get enough money for a two way trip to LA I need a job.

I am finally gonna see Alex again after 3 years!
