Chapter 5 - Getting a Job

Been week since Jane and Mitch started dating and they seem happy but... It is soo annoying. Last night they went to dinner and when Jane got home she told me every single detail. I just wanted to practice my guitar in peace. I eventually gave up on practicing but still!

I wake up, my first day working a Vans, like best job ever! I get dressed a Vans tee, jeans, shoes, and hoodie with a name tag. You can tell how much I loved them, when I could afford them. I grab the car keys and leave a note for Jane. I drive to work. I had the opening shift and took the first two available 9-12 I had a long shift then lunch then 1-2 four hours for $50 per hour, good deal.

I pull in the parking lot and start my shift and at around 11:50 Jane walks in. She grabs a Beanie and I check her out and she says "Is your shift over, I left the boys at GameStop" I smile and say "Yep, just ended, 1 hour lunch break go crazy" rolling my eyes. We walk to game stop and pick up the boys. We eat for about 20 min. Leaving us about 40 min.

We go back to GameStop and I don't buy anything, then we go to a book/music store. I buy 5 books and like 2 CDs. I check the time and its 12:55. I cuss and run with Jerome and Mitch looking confused. I get back with no time to spare. I continue working and at 2 the boys walk in dragging Jane. I take off my name tag and walk over.

"I'm not gonna ask" I say Jerome says "She didn't want to go shopping here" I gasp and pull her over to the clothes section she gasps and runs over to the jeans. I yell at them "20% discount don't go too crazy" at around 3 we're walking out, Mitch and Jerome with stuff from Vans and GameStop. Me with stuff from Vans, the book store, and a new phone (thank you Mitch, Jerome and Jane best birthday present ever!). Jane has stuff from Forever 21, Vans, and a make up store.

We drop off our bags at the apartment and I grab my guitar and go out to the park. I pull it out and start practicing Therapy by All Time Low. I strum the guitar and sing softly. I get scared when Jerome comes and sits next to me "You have a beautiful voice" he says. I smile and say "Thank You" I put the guitar in its case. Jerome examines my arm and looks at one on the back of my wrist.

He asks "What does it say?" he asks, a small tattoo, my first to be specific. It was an inscription in Japanese. I smile and say "Emiko, it's my mom's name. It was my first one, after my first night alone. Getting it was a huge change it signaled a new life for me" he smiles at me, we lean in and our lips are not even an inch apart when Jane and Mitch run over.

They smile and say "Where did you go?" Mitch asks Jerome. He frowns and says "Right here" I realize we're holding hands and Jane raises her eyebrows at me. I laugh and give her a look that says 'no'. She says "Well I came here to pick up you up, Mitch and Jerome came for a game of basket ball. I laugh and say goodbye.

We leave and go home. I practice a bit more in my room then go to bed. Soon I will get to see Alex again!
