"Do you like flowers a lot?" You nod.
"Yeah, I used to spend hours researching it when I was younger. I love it so much, I could spend hours talking about it"
She thought about that night a lot. Every day really. She didn't want to be that kind of girlfriend that doesn't trust her boyfriend. But she couldn't help but see you as competition.
She couldn't help it, as much as she didn't want to. She noticed that although you hung out with them a lot lately, you seemed careful of the way you acted towards Kageyama. She was grateful for the respect you gave their relationship.
But she felt it wasn't enough. Because even if you guys talked the bare minimum that day, the small moments that you guys shared together was enough for her to see the love he had for you. She didn't want to accept it.
She knew he loved you way more than he did her and it broke her.
She didn't know what to do. She had talked to him, telling him that sometimes she felt insecure about his friendship with you. She didn't want you guys to stop being friends, she had no bad intentions whatsoever.
He constantly told her it was fine. He'd keep a certain space between you and him. But there was always something. Whether it was the small glance he gave you during practice, to you guys walking next to each other in complete comfortable silence. There was always something that showed her that in his eyes, she could not compare to you.
Hearing the way you two talked to each other made her realize that you were the girl who spent hours telling him about all the different flowers, the unique and rare animals that exist around the world, the way the stars align at night. All of his knowledge about interesting and unique topics comes from you.
He told her he'd stay up late researching all types of things. you had become such an important part of his life that he would arrive late to practice and sometimes he would miss it when you asked him to hang out with you.
The Kageyama Tobio, the one whose second house is the volleyball gym.The one who's too stubborn to change his daily routine for someone.
That Kageyama Tobio would miss practice for you.
It took her back to all those times he would reschedule dates only to cancel them last minute because of practice. The only time she ever really saw him was at school or when she goes to his volleyball games.
sitting on that bench, getting ready for the game. A small box seemed to rest in his hand.
it was like not even she was enough of a good luck charm for him.
All this time she tried to put all of these things behind her but it was time she confronted him about it.
Maybe she was just insecure. Maybe she was just overthinking. But she needed to do something about it.
