In the shadows of the hall, Ron Weasley stood listening to Cassiopeia and Malfoy's  conversation. He knew he shouldn't be eavesdropping, but when has he ever done what he was told. His mother would surely have an answer for that if she was there. Then again she'd probably hit him over the back of the head too. Ron shook the thoughts away and tuned back into the two Slytherins conversation.

"To study, probably by the lake," she said and added, "alone."

He watched Malfoy flip her off, making her laugh as she headed out of the building. Without thinking, something he did a lot, his feet took him towards the girl. In the back of his head he could hear a small voice saying not to, but as muggles say, 'curiosity killed the cat' or the lion in this situation.

He made sure to keep a distance, far enough she wouldn't notice him, but close enough he wouldn't lose her. Ron didn't really understand why he was following her, or why he wanted to see her but something pulled him towards her. Cassiopeia Myers was almost a complete mystery to him. But, he did know that she was the outcast of her trio, just like he was. When she hid in the Astronomy tower, no one came to find her. When he hid from his own trio, the only time someone came to him was to yell at him or try to get him to apologize. Most of the time they left him.

Ron Weasley was not the brains of the group, Harry was the social one with all the bravery for the three of them. Hermione made all the plans and kept the other two from doing something stupid. But, Hermione wasn't here to stop him now, was she? He didn't know what he was going to do when the time finally came, but he acted on impulse and followed her. He wanted to know what was behind that facade, why she pushed everyone away, why she made it a point to be mean.

So when she sat down under a tree, Ron was mortified at what to do next. He looked around for a way out but found none. He looked for anyone to save him, even Neville to talk about his bloody plants or Luna about her Nargles and other weird creatures. So, when he found no one, he walked up to her.

Cass had known he was following her from the minute she left Draco's side. Weasley wasn't as slick as he thought he was. She watched him realize he had no way out of what he's done. So when she realized what he was going to do, she pulled out her Herbology book and started on her homework.

As she was doing so, a large shadow covered her. She knew it was him but decided against acknowledging it. She continued to read up on self-fertilizing plants until his shadow had annoyed her.

She looked up at him, "Yes, Weasley?" She could see the smoke coming out of his ears from the wheels turning in his head thinking about what to say and mentally laughed, "Can I help you?"

"Um, Well I was wondering-"

"Spit it out," she growled, pulling her eyebrows together.

"Always a bitch," he mumbled.

"You forget insufferable," she smirked, "What do you want? Im kinda working here."

"Can you help me with the Herbology homework?" he asked, looking away.

"Why don't you ask Granger?" she bit back, wishing she could have one peaceful afternoon.

"Hermiones mean," he sighed trailing off.

"And?"
