Jago's pov
If Cora never followed me, this wouldn't had happened. If I killed that man any differently none of this wouldn't have happened.
But here I am in my apartment where Cora's shaking body is a few feet away from me.
It happened. And I have no idea what to do. It'd be crazy if I told her. She wouldn't understand. No one understands. I thought about what'd I'd say to Cora, while her own thoughts were rushing into my head.
What happened. What is it with this strange boy that unfortunate things keep happening. How did he kill that guy. You know what, I'm taking this a little too far, I probably was just hallucinating, shocked that a man was killed in front of me. I witnessed a man being stabbed! I'm going a bit crazy..
"Cora." I spoke to get the crazy thoughts out of her head.
Her eyes so scared, her body shaking in fear. So fragile.
"You're not going crazy."
A confused look overtook her beautiful yet afraid features.
"How..? Jago please explain everything that's happened.. I don't know what's going on and I just need an answer.. How do you always know what's on my mind? Are you like some type of mind reader? Did.. Did you really kill that man..?" Eyes wide open and scared.
"Cora. Please don't be afraid."
"I'm not." But her shaky voice gave her away. She was scared.. Afraid of me..
I reached for her hand and in instant she jerked it away from my touch. I need her touch.
"Please don't be afraid of me, Cora.." I pleaded and searched for her eyes.
My hand found hers and she held it. My heart rejoiced. She may not be that afraid of me now but she will be, I just hope she understands.
"Look. I never meant for any of this to happen. It wasn't my intention t..to kill that man but when I saw him grab you and I knew he was taking you away from me. I just..I lost it Cora. I couldn't bear the thought of you being hurt by another man.."
"But how did you um.. You know kill him." She whispered with a frown.
Please don't hate me.
"I need you to understand that I am .. Umm.. Not like other people.."
"What do you mean?"
What happens if I do tell her. Will she think I'm crazy. Will she turn me in for murder. What if she never wishes to speak to me again.. This is to much to risk. I can't tell her.
"I just.. um.. I need you to go home."
"What?"
"I can't tell you Cora.. You wouldn't understand.."
"If any person is one to understand its me! Jago, I need you to tell me. Please I beg of you. I need to know, I'm going crazy not knowing.. please, I will understand!"
"No Cora, you won't! No one ever does and you won't either. It's just to much.. It's not even any of your business."
She scoffed. "None of my business? Jago, that man wanted to do God knows what to my body! And you killed a man in front of me! All of this was caused because of me. Now tell me how none of this is my business. Clearly, I had to do something with it!"
"You're right. It's your fault. If you didn't follow me like I ordered you not to, you wouldn't be in this mess!"
"Oh so now it's my fault? My fault for that man wanting me? My fault for the other man that took me? My fault for murdering a man? You know what, you're right, I'm leaving, clearly I don't understand any of this. But more importantly I don't understand you."
She huffed in annoyance and slammed my front door shut. Leaving me alone with the thoughts reminding me of how stupid I am.
-hiii! I apologize for not updating for a week. I had to take my cahsee tests and everything was just stressful but I hope you enjoyed! And if Jago seems a bit annoying with not telling her. It's cause he's very protective over this "secret". Anyways goodbye lovelys☺️
