Jago's pov

The sunlight coming from the window makes my eyes scrunch when I wake. I didn't even know when I fell asleep, but I knew that I would as soon as my head hit the pillow. Her pillow, smelled just like her, of vanilla and comfort, maybe that's why I slept well.

Rubbing my eyes, I walk down the stairs where I see a plate full of eggs, bacon and two pieces of wheat bread. A little note on the side of it reads 'Went to work, eat up :)' A smile finds its way on my face as I devour the delicious food that was made from Cora.

Cora's pov

I'm scared, afraid, and a little bit angry but the way my hands haven't stopped shaking as I delivered teas to the smiling customers proved I was more anxious than ever. I didn't want to go home, not yet. But my shift was over and Emme was basically pushing me out the door to go home and rest when she saw how distressed I was.

But going home meant seeing Jago. I don't know if I really want to know why the strange things have happened in the last few days. Or if I want to know what he meant when he said he's not like other people..

I turn the key, unlocking my front door and take a deep breathe. Jago is on the other side with his hands in his front jean pockets.

"Hi." He whispers with that cute small grin of his.

"Hi." I whisper back, attempting to take my coat off.

"Let me." He rushes to my side and takes my purse in his hands and helps with my coat.

"Thanks." I try to smile but the nerves in my stomach haven't stopped all morning. Maybe I'm over thinking it, whatever he's going to tell me can't be that bad...right?

There's a small silence as we just stare into each other's eyes. A mesmerizing look from his eyes somehow calm me.

Finally, one of us speaks,"Please, come sit." He says and leads me to the couch and I can't help but smile at the irony that this should be the other way around seeing as it is my place.

"So...Well, I don't know where to start." He frowns.

"From the begging." I say, earning a chuckle from his lips.

"Right." He looks at the ground for a moment while I assume he's gathering his thoughts.

He looks up at me and straightens his back, a sign showing he's ready.

"So, I'll start from the beginning. Hopefully, you'll understand why I am the way I am." He frowns again and I place my hand on his cheek for a second, letting him know that I will understand.

"My mother, Kendra is not from this Planet." I nearly choke, "What?"

"Please, shh, I'll answer your questions at the end." He gently coaxes. I nod.

"Like I said, my mother is not from earth, she's from another planet. A long time a go before I was born, she came here, to earth. Said she didn't like it over there, too many rules or something."He questions himself at her reason, not believe it but going with it.

"She said she came down here to look for love." A shudder runs down his shoulders.

"By the looks of it, I'm presuming she did, because she married and had two kids. My older brother Felix and me." He says the name Felix with so much disgust and hatred.

"Anyway, because of her marrying my father, he was killed. And she just disappeared. Just left out of nowhere. You see, she was, I guess what you guys call it here, an alien." My eyeballs widen at this and he sees right through me, knowing I'm building up so many questions. Instead I mutter a sorry for the loss of his father. But he doesn't acknowledge it.

"And he was human. In her planet, marrying a human was considered abnormal and wrong. It was a disgrace to all aliens, but see she didn't care. She never cared for her home planet, if anything she'd want nothing more to be normal and have human blood. But at las, she was only filled with the alien kind. And because of her, I have the same alien blood pumping through my veins." His gaze is stuck on the floor.

"And just like her, I want nothing more to be human, completely human. Now I'm stuck with these cursed powers that I know nothing of." His voice is low now.

I can't help the question coming out of my lips. "Are you...full alien?"

His eyes finally meet mine. "No", he breathes. "I'm half."

Half?

"Half human, Half alien. I have both types of blood in me. And because of it, there are people after me. Cora, this is why I'm never near anyone. It's why I'm closed up and I built a wall before me. But you...you came and slowly I saw it come down, I didn't pay much attention to it before but now I've seen the trouble I've caused you and it pains me to think it's my fault."

I know I'm supposed to be afraid and terrified based on this information. But I'm not. If anything, I feel more compassion toward this young troubled young man...alien? Whatever he is, I want to be with him even more, somehow I feel secure and safe with him, despite the incident that happened. And I do know the trouble that's been caused by him...but part of it is my fault too..

"No, Cora don't do that." Jago interrupts my thoughts.

He narrows his eyes. "It's not your fault, it's mine, all of it is. That's why I need you to stay away from me."

What? He can't possible think..

"Yes Cora, I do think it's better this way." And it clicks, one of his powers is that he's able to read minds. At least he can with mine. Either way, I argue back.

"In what way!"

"It just is, we both need to stay away from each other."

"Jago, you just told me you are an alien, you honestly think I am just going to leave and go on with my life?" I scoff.

"Cora, please you don't understand of what's to come to me. And when it does, I don't want you near!"

"What can it possibly be!"

"Damnit Cora! I've been in hiding okay! I moved here because I'm hiding!"

Surprised, I ask,"From what?"

"From WHO." He corrects,"From Felix." Theres that disgust in his name again.

"Your older brother." I sigh. Knowing there's more to this story than he let on.

"Yes." And he sighs too.

-whoops! Yes this is a little bit of a cliff hanger..? I think, Idk? I guess kinda yes because we still don't know why he hates his brother so we'll know that in the next chap! Anyways, so sorry for not updating in weeks, I just didn't know how to make Jago break it down to her but he did.. Kinda.. There's still a lot from his past to come so yeah! Ok goodbye lol. Remember to vote.. If you want.. No pressure haha ok bye.
