My retreat took me to the sandy realm of Saudi Arabia. How I got here I do not know but it seemed like a good place to get away from it all. I ended up settling down near Lake Duma Jandal. It was a nice quiet place with an amazing view. I had planned on being here for a century or two.
I lived a pacifistic life out here. I lived in a hut with a fridge filled with blood and beer. I came out every weekend to see the tourists who came to swim in the lake and sun bath on the sand.
But there is one girl I saw every Sunday. She seemed to stick out from the crowed. She came out once every week in the middle of the night to paint. Looks like I wasn't the only one who didn't like the suns light.
One night I took a straw to get some fresh air on the sandy shore. I sat down as my pitiful past I recalled. And there she was, the mystery girl. "Do you mind if I sit here?" she said but I said "no".
"Don't come near me." I said. "Why do you say so? I am not afraid?" she replied with a smirk on her face. I stood up and started walking towards my shed. "It's still early, why are you going to bed?" she asked. "It's none of your business" is what I said.
This wasn't the last time I saw this girl. Little did I know that our paths were intertwined. I saw more of her until one day a conversation was sparked.
Three months went by since I run away from jasmine. Not a day went by without me regretting what would have been. On the her hand, I saw more and more of the strange girl.
One night she came to the shore, with buckets of paint and small radio. She sat next to me but this time she didn't say a word. She just grabbed her brushes and started to paint. I must admit she's really creative, she drew the moon, the stars and even the waves.
"A girl going out this late, you must be real brave, or maybe you are just looking for an early grave?" I said. "Death is a luxury I wish I had, maybe then I could escape the memory of Dave." She said. "Seems like we have one thing in common" I said. "What's that?" she asked "we both want to escape our pasts and the place we called home." I answered.
With that said, I left her to the night while she sat there painting what was in her heart. These random short conversations went on and on till what was nothing finally took a form.
We became close friends without realizing it. We would talk all night but never in the sun light. Which made me wonder, is she a vampire too? So I ended up asking her out for a date.
"I never got your name, I'm Simeon so what is yours?" I asked. "My name is Alexandria but my family call me Alex" she said as she looked directly into my eyes. "Would you like to go out with me for a walk or maybe lunch?" I asked. She answered "yes sure but I prefer branch."
The next day we went out for branch. It was then I finally saw her more clearly. She had a well curved smile, dreamy black eyes with long black hair falling onto her shoulders. Damn she was beautiful, I thought of this over and over.
As we sat down to eat I took a white flower and put it in her hair, why did I do that you ask? I don't know why I even dared. She seemed so at ease, like she wasn't even scared. "If you don't mind, I'd like to know more about you" I said. "Where should I start from?" she asked herself.
"I will start from the beginning but don't think I'm crazy." She said. "By the way how did you know that I love daisies?" she added. "Let's just say it was a hunch" I replied.
