Maze B

Part 4 - Confused

During the meeting you weren't quite sure what to expect, you'd never been to one. Let alone your head is still lacking memories. You got there and all girls sat down, y/n stood up and looked around. Then we heard the door close, meaning the last person had come in. Anna, who got here right after Amelia. y/n stood up and said "Meeting started". Y/n stood up and started explaining why she brought us in and what she'd be thinking of. She came up with some rules.

"1. Never hurt another glader"

"2. Stick to the job you're given to, you get it for a reason"

"and lastly..."

"Never go past the walls"

"is everyone clear?"

Everyone nodded their heads understandingly. "Good now meeting over, go back to what you were doing" and she said that with a kind smile. We all went out and y/n came up to me and told me that I would be doing every job but bits of it, in order to get me doing something around the Glade. I nodded and she told me I would be starting in the kitchens. She guided me over to the kitchens, where I saw Anna and couple other chefs. I liked cooking, but I wouldn't consider myself that good at it.

Anna saw us and smiled nicely, "Hello Y/n! Hello... greenie!" she said welcoming us into the kitchen area. Y/n told her what Anna needed to do and left. Anna looked at me and asked me if I had cooked before, I told her I enjoyed it but don't think I'm very good at it. Anna looked at me then looked back to her pan, she said "okay" and then she asked me to cut a potato, I attempted it but, it wasn't very good. It looked like Mr. Potato Head had been.. uh stabbed.

Anna looked at me disapprovingly, I just smiled to try and make it a bit better. Anna said to then cut a tomato, biggest mistake she has asked me to do. Tomato juices went EVERYWHERE, maybe a little bit got on Anna "oopsie" I said. Anna now looked frustrated and ushered me out of her kitchen whilst shaking her head. I laughed to myself about how bad I was as something simple, but I shrugged it off and since I didn't know what to do, I went to the big forest, down the south-west. Deadheads I think it's called.

I had a look around for a suitable tree to sit on, and I found one that I could reach, It was quite easy for me to hop onto it as I had more strength then I thought I did, but I'm not complaining. I sat on the branch and started wondering why I was chosen for this place. What was outside of the Glade? I had experienced the walls closing, but was confused on why they closed.

I was thinking more questions to myself then I heard someone call my name, I looked down to see a small girl, she had to be around 12-13. I felt horrible for her as how young she looked compared to everyone else, how scared I was, and I was older then her. She called me down, so I slowly descended down the tree, making sure every branch I stepped on was strong enough for me. Then I hopped down, she smiled and told me her name was Shelly.

We talked for a little bit, and subconsciously she said maze. Then I immediately stopped to look at her and asked her what she meant by maze. She covered her mouth like she wasn't meant to say anything, but it was too late. She told me all she could about what she's heard is outside the Glade and why you shouldn't go out. But it was obvious she didn't know much about it.
