When the meeting was finished, we had come up with timings and we made sure we knew who was and wasn't coming. We tried talking to the people who declined but they, unfortunately wouldn't change their mind. We had cracked a code a while ago, but was unsure what it was for. If I'm correct, the code is what we need to put into the key code. I memorised the code for ages just to make sure I wouldn't forget it. I then went to go tell Shelly and Aris what was happening before anything started happening.

We decided to set off the following night, giving everyone time to prepare and emotionally say good bye to the only place they've known. I was scared to be honest, we weren't 100% sure if that was even our exit, and I feared how many of us may not make the journey. However, I hid it very well so I wouldn't worry anyone. I told everyone there was hope. We could be safe, escape. Meet our parents, our family. Even though I was quite positive none of us had any left. Which got me feeling bad for Shelly because she would always talk about how excited to see her parents when we escape.

We are now all ready to go, I gave Shelly the job of putting the code in just as long as she would stay a safe distance away from any harm. Then we set off.

Left, right, left, left

We kept going the direction I know best, it took longer then we had anticipated but that was only because we had non runners, they didn't have as much stamina as running wasn't their job in the glade so we took minor breaks. We got to the blades and ran through them, we got to where the exit was and heard a much too familiar sound "Scorders." I whispered as I peered round the corner. The people who heard me looked at me and asked how many, "Over 5, Tell everyone at the back". It got round to the back and I asked if everyone was ready, they slowly nodded their head. They didn't seem like they were ready, but we were here, we had committed.

"Girls, and guy. We are doing this so we can go home, go see whatever is left of our family and friends. We committed to this and now we are going to fight. All the rage and energy you have, is going to be put to killing them shucking Scorders". That seemed to get everyone more pumped for this, right before we headed through I told Shelly she was going to stay with me, I fight off the Scorders whilst she puts the code in.

"LET'S DO THIS" Screams and battle cries erupted as we went full speed towards the Scorders, every memory of the Glade will be remembered. All our rage from things that happened in the Glade we are going to fight to release. I am not going down, not without a fight. I said over again in my head.

Spears raised, the sound of growls filled the air. The Scorders were caming full speed at us, some of us slid under the Scorders, slicing them from below. Some of us went around the Scorders pushing them off. But some of us also got clawed, ripped apart, stung by the monstrous creatures. However, there is no time for grief right now.

We did the code and went through the tunnel. We got to another door after pure darkness and I proceeded to pushed it open and looked at who was still with us. Everyone had some spot of blood somewhere, but nobody looked seriously injured. I spotted Aris in the back, I was quite relieved he was still alive. He was a very smart kid, and he knew more then any of us according to all his tales.

We continued down this hallway until we got to the end and saw a big lit up green sign stating "EXIT". "Are you serious" Bella said in disbelief. I didn't have the energy to laugh at the irony of the exit sign and I pushed the door open anyway. As we tread carefully through the door we saw this big room, where there was shattered glass on the floors, smashed computers, dead bodies, and lights flickering, some broken completely.

On one of the desks we saw this big red button so we proceeded to press it to where this lady with blonde hair, a lab coat and red lipstick began to speak with pain and sympathy in her eyes.

"My name is Doctor Ava Paige. I'm the director of Operations at the World Catastrophe: Kill Zone department, and if you're watching this that means you've successfully completed the maze trails. I wish I could be there in person to congratulate you."

She paused, we looked behind her and saw these other scientists, or so we presumed looking very frightened.

"But circumstances seem to have prevented it. I'm sure by now you must all be very confused, angry, frightened. I can only assure you that everything that's happened to you, everything we've done to you, it was all done for a reason."

She paused again as the scream turned into many images of what the outside world looked like, then she started speaking whilst showing the photos.

"You wont remember but the sun has scorched our world. billions of lives lost to fire, famine suffering on a global scale. The fallout was unimaginable. What came after was worse, we call it the flare. A deadly virus that attacks the brain. It is violent, unpredictable and incurable. Or so we thought. In time, a new generation emerged that could survive the virus. That suddenly gave us a reason to hope for a cure, but finding it would not be easy."

She paused once again to see the people behind her grabbing their things in a rush, then gunshots. Lots of them, to then these people dressed in all black army wear barge in shooting everyone and everything.

"The young would have to be tested. Even sacrificed inside harsh environments where their brain activity could be studied. All in an effort to understand what makes them different. What makes you different. You may not realise it but you're very important. Unfortunately your trails have only just begun as you will no doubt soon discover."

Then she picks up a gun and places it to her temple. BANG. Then her whole body falls limp and drops onto the floor. Dead, or so we believed. I look over to Shelly and she looked horrified. Poor kid.

These men barge in scaring the life out of us. They were the same men dressed in black who came in shooting the scientists! They tell us we had got to hurry, they were coming.
Who was coming? Who are they? Why did we have to hurry? All these questions flooded my mind, but we followed the men because it seemed like they knew what they were doing despite their recent activity so we saw on the computer. One of them said "run like your life depends on it, because it does". So we got out and started running, Shelly gave me this wooden carve out she did, it was of 2 small people. "That's.... you and that's.. me". She was running so she was running out of breath. We saw a helicopter in the distance and so we started sprinting.

We saw this army of people coming towards us, but they're weren't running like 'normal' people, they ran sort of zombie like. Well they didn't seem like people I'd want to meet so we ran. We all safely made it to the so called "chopper" and we started flying over the sand dunes. Which were surrounding the maze.

"Wow, after all that time and effort. We made it out." I heard Anna say. I released the breath that i never knew I was holding in, I guess let our journey begin.
