Part 5 - Another Greenie?

You talked some more with Shelly and how she didn't really have a job, it was more so helping people with their jobs because when she came and tried out all the jobs she wasn't very good at any of them. You nodded as she spoke to you and you honestly felt bad for her.

You both walked around whilst greeting the other girls working and then the sound of the box coming up echoed through the glade. You and Shelly was confused as you'd only been there a day and from what Shelly told you, the box isn't suppose to come up with supplies for another week.

You both ran to the box, as the other girls did and Y/n came through and opened the box door. You couldn't really see in the box as the other girls were covering your view, but you heard a thud along with a couple metal squeaks, suggesting someone had jumped inside the box. It took some time before you heard some of the girls gasp, you and Shelly looked at each other and then you heard a girl scream "IT'S ANOTHER GREENIE".

Then you heard someone else scream "AND ITS A BOY?!".

Almost all the girls looked at me in confusion and some stared at the boy in shock.
I looked at Shelly but she looked confused. Y/n shouted my name to come to the front and see if I recognised the kid. I made my way to the front of the crowded girls, Anna telling them to go back to their work. Most of them scattered away but some stayed back. I took a look at the boy but he didn't seem familiar to me at all.

He w, but he just sat there. Didn't move a muscle like if he did he was going to die. Bella looked back and forth at us, she asked me again and I shook my head. "Never seen him in my life". Bella slowly nodded then held her hand out to him, she asked him some questions and as it was early she gave him a tour. Similar to when I came.

Me and Shelly went on a walk around the Glade and I got some strange stares from some of the girls, which I didn't like but ignored. We got to where the opening of the walls were, leading into the maze. I got a sudden urge of power to run, but Shelly saw my body tensing and she stood in front of me, like she knew I wanted to run, which I did. I asked her what it takes to be a runner, and she said you needed to be picked. Mostly by Bella, then you will need to have lots of strength and be able to run almost all day, without taking many breaks. You also needed to have lots of speed while running, even if you were tired and there is a Scorder chasing you, you don't have 2 seconds to cool down. You need to sprint like your life depends on it, because it does. I nodded taking in what Shelly was telling me, of course it wasn't a lot but she was quite close with a couple runners. Which tell Shelly what you need to have to be a runner and all of that.

I took on more look at the opening we just walked to, and imagined how it's like out there.
