Maze B

Part 7 - Keep running, don't look back

We jogged as fast as we could, trying to synchronise our steps so we can travel smooth and quick. We came across a whole patch of vines, and looking further in it, I could see a gap. Enough for 2 people, though it'll be tight. We gently placed Bella inside of it, then to our right down the corridor we could hear the loud sounds. "Scorders" Anna whisper-yelled.

"We have got to go now, come on", I stood there. I'd never seen a Scorder and frankly, I was intrigued. I got pulled back to see Anna with a very worried face, now talking louder saying we needed to go. I didn't budge though. I looked at Anna, Anna looked at me but then her eyes looked past me and they widened. She took off running, whilst I whipped my head around.

There it was, It was much more disgusting then the description I got off of Shelly. I couldn't see it's eyes, though Shelly told me they weren't hard to miss. It let out a horrid screech which scared the beans out of me. Then I heard Anna shout at the other end of the corridor, "KEEP RUNNING, DON'T LOOK BACK", then there was nothing.

The Scorder had seen me but didn't more, it seemed like it was waiting for me to make the first move. Adrenaline took over and I made a run for it, I was very fast. I got to the end of the corridor before the Scorder even passed where I stood, staring at it. You could hear the metal arms smacking the concrete floor every step it took. You made swift movements to try and get away.

left, right, right, left, right

You made sure to keep notes in your head the way you went, it could save your life. Seeing how big and eerie the maze is right now. You would not like to be stuck in here any longer then you had to be, especially with the Scorders.

You've been running, for god knows how long now then you turn a corner and hear the same noise as you hear when the doors in the Glade close. You investigate and see 2 walls closing like they do in the Glade. You kept running to it not knowing if it will save your life, or end it. You then faintly see a shadow running towards you. "Anna!" She comes running to you, very fast and tells me to run through the closing doors, I wait a little to see why she's in such a hurry.

"Scorder" You mumble

Anna was coming closer, and so was the Scorder. You told Anna "Go through the doors now I have a brilliant idea". She seemed hesitant but ran through. "OI BLOODY SLIMY SCORDER OVER HERE". That sure did agitate the creature making it run faster. You bolted through the closing door with the Scorder right behind. Anna was shouting who knows what but you were more focused on making it out of the closing doors. You got to the end right before the doors closed and..

*SQUELCH"

The Scorder didn't make it and go squished in the last bit of door. You smiled to yourself until Scorders came screeching out of the darkness at the end of the corridor. You and Anna both bolted to the other side of the corridor. Not stopping at all, well not until you got to a cliff. You and Anna looked at each other and I could see in her eyes, she was petrified. The Scorders didn't stop, you asked Anna for any weapons she had, she nodded and handed you a knife. You had a very risky idea, you didn't know if you would succeed or not.

"It's worth a try" You mumbled

Anna looked at you in confusion, you flashed her a smile back and starting sprinting. Towards the monstrous mechanical creatures. Full speed. They were running one after the other, you got enough speed that right before they got to you, you went out of view.

You slid under them with you knife high. You sliced through it as high as you could reach, and it stopped moving, dead. However still skidding a bit due to the momentum but slowing down from the friction to the concrete. You got to the last Scorder, knife still up and you looked directly at the Scorder, Oh boy how you wished you didn't. It was way worse up close.

A/N: i wrote this book back in 2019 during my 'almost failed english' time in my life, so if you see any grammatical or spelling mistakes, no you don't. 😭😂
