Chapter Four: Attempt

The golden sun slipped through the light curtains, blinding you and forcing you to wake up.

"Ah, glad to see you awake, Milady!" Scarlett says, throwing up the curtains causing you to hiss and cover your eyes. "What a beautiful day!" She opens the windows and distant chatter and chirping birds fill the room.

"Scarlett, it's so early," You groaned and she tutted at you and threw off your covers.

"Milady! Today Doran is going to be giving you and tour and then we have to begin to plan the wedding!"

"Already?" You swing your legs over the bed and rub your eyes.

"Of course! It's in a fortnight!" She squeals and your heart falls.

"That's...2 weeks!" Your face pales as you begin to pace around your room.

"Milady, do not panic, Doran is very gentle,"

"Is bedding a thing over here?" You ask quietly.

"Of course! This is Dorne!" She exclaims as Sphax walks in.

"My lady," He ducks his head then furrows his brows. "Are you alright?"

"She's panicking about the wedding," Scarlett says softly.

"I'm allowed to panic!"

"She is allowed to panic," Sphax agrees earning a slap from Scarlett.

"Perhaps you can wait outside while I help (Y/N) change," He nods and steps out before she pulls out a long flowy red dress accompanied with golden armour for the torso.

"Why do I need to wear armour?"

"Assassins,"

"What!?" Scarlett chuckles while she begins to undress you.

"Don't panic, Doran and Sphax will keep you safe," She smiles as she ties your hair up to keep you cool in the hot climate of Dorne. "Okay, I need to add some finishing touches to your wedding dress,"

"I...don't even choose my wedding dress?"

"Well, Doran has decided a dress for you and since what happened with your brother and Elia, I would suggest going with it until the tension as smoothed over," She whispers before guiding you out. Sphax wasn't there and Scarlett has already rushed off leaving you to wonder, not knowing where you were supposed to go. You smiled when you saw Oberyn walking towards you.

"Lost?" He asks as he slows to a stop.

"Perhaps, I don't know where I need to go," You answer honestly.

"Well, that sounds like a you problem," He begins to walk away.

"Hey! Do you know where Doran is?"

"Yes, he's waiting for you,"

"Where?"

"Find out," He turns again and you hike your skirts up to chase him.

"Hey! Take me to him!" You hiss, reaching out to grab him. He turns on you, grabbing your wrist and easily towers over you.

"Listen closely, little one, you're in the snake's den. After what your brother did, I suggest you be careful," He glances over to see Elliria watching.

"I'm not to blame for what Rhagar did or Elia, it wasn't my fault," You seeth, your voice low.

"You're walking on thin ice, you're lucky you're still alive because many of our people want you dead," He leans close to your ear. "Your brother is dead so you're the only way for the Martell's to get their revenge,"
