Many months ago in King's Landing...
I was sitting in the dinning room, reading a book my mother gave me before she left. As I looked up, across the table I could see my father Aerys Targaryen (also known as The Mad King), was tapping his wine glass with slight agitation whilst he gave me the cold shoulder. He muttered something under his breath but I couldn't quite make it out, so I decided to say something to end the tension that filled the room.
''So father, I was wondering if, well you...'' But just before I could finish my sentence I was met with his fiery eyes staring into my soul.
''I didn't give you permission to speak to me did I hmm? No, so get out of my sight before you give me hell to pay!'' He spoke these words with such rage I decided it would best to not speak.
I quickly scuttered out of the room, without hesitation. Grabbing a shawl and my leather shoes, I headed for the door. I thought being out of the castle would be the best option. I didnt know where I was going to go or what I was going to do. Then it struck me. I knew there was one place I could go where I could be alone where nobody could hurt me or bother me. Mothers' flower garden was the perfect place. It was surrounded by all types of plants and flowers, like orchids, roses and tulips. I also knew it was one place father could never find me. As I walked in, there was that same marble, coated, bench in the centre. Mother and I used to sit there togther and read books and talk about all the kind of adventures she had when she was little. The sound of birds and the breeze gently touching me on the cheek was really calming. I decided to have a little nap on the bench, so walked over layed down and slowly drifted off into a...deep sleep...I was rudley awoken, what felt like thirty minuets later, to find my father shaking me with a letter in his right hand. Confused, I sat up hastily.
''Father what is going on, why are you shaking me so much?'' I sighed heavily.
He could hardly speak as for the first time in a long time he was smiling and jumping up and down. He spluttered ''I have the most amazing news!''
''I'm sure you do, but why are you telling me this news?'' I said questioning him with curiosity.
''Well I should've told you this months ago, I have made a deal with the Dorneish that I'd marry you to their eldest son, Prince Doran Martell,''
This took me a little than a few seconds to process. ''YOU WHAT!? I MEAN I DONT EVEN KNOW WHO THEY ARE! OR IF THEY WILL LIKE ME! AND WHAT YOU THINK I WOULD ALLOW YOU TO MARRY ME OFF TO A TOTAL STRANGER?!''
''I know you wouldn't agree to this, however this will benefit our families," 'He said trying to resassure me. But I was not having it.
''I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE BENEFITS I HATE YOU AND WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS!!'' I spat in his face and made a run for it.
I ran towards the front door and sped down the hallway. I could hear him screaming my name but I cancelled him out. I could feel my eyes stinging from the tears in my eyes, completley blurring my vison but I didn't care. The only thing I wanted to do was shut myself out from my dad and the rest of the world. I slammed the door and fell into a teary mess on my bedroom floor. A few seconds later my dad came bursting into the room. I quickly stood up wiped my eyes and turned around to face the man I now despised.
"Listen, you are my daughter which means I decide what is for you. You will go to Dorne and you will marry Prince Doran!"
"But I am a dragon! I don't want to marry some Dornish snake! I'm only 15!"
"That is old enough to marry," He steps closer however his eyes were softer. "The further you are away from this war, the safer you are. I have put my trust in the Dornish to take care of you while the Lannister's storm Kingslanding. You'll be safer there. If the Lannister's succeed, they'll use you, rape you and ultimately kill you. As you said, you are a dragon. I trust you to rise from the ashes and re-build our name," I sighed and looked down and he lifts my head. "(Y/N), can I trust you?"
"You believe we will fall?" He looks out of the window to see the army in the distance.
"I will do my best, but I know you will find your way back,"
"Father?" This was the first time I've seen him civil, it scares me.
"I'll burn them all," I sighed heavily, there it was. The madness flickering back into his eyes. "I'LL BURN THEM IN THEIR HOMES!" He shouted, moving to be by the window.
Focus shifts to back present day....
The boat started rocking more vigourously and I could feel my stomach churning. As I looked up, to my left, upahead was Dorne. All of a sudden I could feel my heart pounding inside my chest. I began second doubting my desicion. Was this the right thing to do? Have I made a mistake? No matter what I told myself, I couldnt change my mind or turn back now because it was all to late. I felt like a hopeless soul lost at see. I woud be here and now that my fate would be sealed. This is where the rest of my life will evolve. This was the very start of a new chapter in my life and I could already tell it was slowly going to crumble.
