CH 14

PRESENT

"Alright, now let us move onto the MRI scans. This should be fun," He said with a smile. "Ahh yes, please leave the gown on, it'll make things easier," He assured me and I nodded, following him back out into the hallway where Ty was waiting patiently.

I met eyes with him briefly. He said nothing about my outfit change as we made our way through the hallway. My mind soon wandered to Ello and how they were doing. Ello was very impatient so I could only imagine how miffed they were sitting around, waiting to be called upon.

We entered into another room again, Ty stationing himself outside. Dr Graves had me lay down on the bed thing before giving me instructions.

"I'll need you to stay completely still. The scan doesn't hurt at all but it is rather loud so don't let that scare you. We noticed with Ello that a scan such as this upsets the Raizon in your bodies, so you might feel like you have a fever momentarily, but that's as bad as the pain should get. Oh yes- for some reason, the scans are so loud Ello can't stand them- and they weren't being dramatic either. Something about the scans does something to his ears and they start bleeding, but he's fine if he wears sound-blocking headphones. Just to be safe, I'll be having you wear them too. You'll still be able to hear a bit but it won't be anywhere near as bad,"

Dr Graves held out the earphones to me and I slipped them on. I got comfortable on the bed before he left the room. I could faintly hear the hum of the machine that slowly grew louder, but it was faint. I supposed the earphones weren't completely soundproof but then again, I had much better hearing than the average person. The bed started to slowly move into the scanner and I found myself growing warm like he said I would. I started to sweat but didn't wipe it away, staying still like I was told to.

A ringing started up in my ears but I ignored it. It felt like forever before we were done with the scan and I was slowly moved back out of the machine. I blinked a couple of times, lifting an arm to wipe at the sweat on my forehead. I felt a little sick now. Fever was an understatement. I was uncomfortably hot now.

Dr Graves walked back in and smiled when our eyes met. He motioned that I could take the earphones off so I did. "You did wonderfully. I'll have to have you go back in once more but then that should be it for the rest of the day," He assured me. I nodded. "I already sent Sera to grab Ello so you two can link,"

"Alright," I said with yet another nod. I didn't feel like going back in that thing but it felt best to just do what I was told.

A few moments later Ello bounded through the sliding doors with Sera following in after them. They came up and hugged me immediately, taking me by surprise a bit.

"I'm really sweaty," I said, scrunching up my face.

"I don't care," Ello said with a smile as I watched their red eyes turn blue again. They didn't let go of me either which made me frown.

"You can let go now,"

"I know," Was their only response.

"Let go, you're so clingy,"

Ello frowned before they let go of me.

"Brilliant, We'll give you a break, Mikael, why Ello gets their scan," Dr Graves informed me. I nodded and stood, accepting the crutches handed to me by Sera before hobbling out of the room, sparing Ello a glance, noticing they too were in a hospital gown now. I exited the room, and went into the back where all the stats were displayed. I didn't know what any of it meant so I stayed quiet.

I watched Ello lay down with the earphones before Dr Graves came in. "This will be interesting to see," he said with a smile. I didn't know what that meant but continued to watch silently.
