We had gotten Katherine in the tomb - with help.

Help from Elijah.

Elijah was an original vampire, meaning that he was one of the oldest. He knew about Klaus, which is who Katherine was running from. We just didn't know why.

But hell, we're going to find out.

"Caroline, we're good from here," Elena said quietly. "She can't hurt us if we're right here."

Elena and I sat outside of the tomb, Katherine glaring at both of us.

"What do you really want to know?"

"What Klaus wanted from you,"

"I'm a Petrova doppelgänger, like you," she said to Elena, but her eyes wandered to me. "And you,"

"What about me?"

Elena gave Katherine some blood to get her to talk.

"My sister, Nataliya Petrova,"

"Natalie," I said in disbelief.

"You are the first doppelgänger of Nataliya, if Klaus knows you exist..."

"What do you mean? What did Klaus want with you?" Elena asked.

"I was banished to England from Bulgaria shortly after I had my baby - out of wedlock. I never saw my daughter. I quickly became English, and that's where I met Klaus."

Natalie was Katherine's sister.

"I was taken with him at first, until I found out what he was and what he wanted with me. And then I ran like hell,"

"What did he want?"

"I'm a Petrova doppelgänger, he wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body to break the curse,"

"And I'm a doppelgänger," Elena said knowingly.

"Nataliya and I used to get along," Katherine began, looking in my direction. "Our parents kept it a secret that I was going to be sent away. When Klaus went looking for me, he went to our home in Bulgaria."

Elena and I sat in silence, listening to the story.

"Klaus killed my family and turned Nataliya. She thought I had ran away or died, but apparently Klaus let on that I was alive before feeding Nataliya his blood and snapping her neck. She moved to America 1800's and compelled the founder's of Philadelphia to adopt her and changed her name to Natalie Callowhill. She came looking for me in Mystic Falls and she found me,"

"I know this part," I said, hoping Katherine knew where she went afterwards or how she died.

"I found her in the 20's in New York City and staked her. She almost turned Damon against me,"

"But you had Stefan too,"

"God knows she would've tried to compel Stefan if she had the chance," Katherine scoffed.

"But Tatiana, you're a Petrova. Klaus will want you just as much as he wants Elena,"

"Does that mean that -"

"You and Tatiana are practically sisters, Elena."

With that, Katherine went back into the tomb, leaving Elena and I to figure out what was going on.

"I don't think we should tell Stefan," Elena finally said.

"Or Damon."

We both rose to our feet and walked out of the tomb and to Elena's car.
