a/n: ok, i know the timeline in this story is a lil messy. that being said, here's a short breakdown: the story started sometime during season four, making both Spencer and Atticus 27. Now, they've been dating for four years which would place us around season eight. The reason that so much time has passed is that Atticus was stationed once for nine months, came back for nine months, and then was deployed for a year. i know what you're thinking, that doesn't add up to four years at all. And you would be correct. Because I fucked my own timeline like a dumbass lol. So, just to clarify, this chapter takes place like 4-6 months after the last one. Wooh, glad we cleared that up, lol!<3

Spencer stirred slightly and turned to face Atticus. He couldn't help but get lost in how adorable she looked. The sunlight streaming through the curtains highlighting the red undertones in her long dark curls that were strewn about, the slight shadow it created under her cheekbones while also illuminating her features. He pressed soft kisses from her forehead to her cheeks, to the tip of her nose before she started moving.

"Mmm--Spencer...!", she complained, "What time is it?"

"8:17."

"God fucking damn it.", her words were muffled by the way she had pulled herself closer to Spencer and buried her face in the crook of his neck. They stayed like this, Spencer tracing lazy patterns down her back and mumbling half-coherent sentences back and forth to stay awake.

Atticus got up and shivered lightly at the way the cold air nipped at her skin before pulling Spencer by the arm out of bed, "Babe!", she giggled, "C'mon! We have to get going."

"But, why?", he pouted.

"You know why!"

"Enlighten me.", he teased.

"I'm referring to the fact that you wrecked your car and now Morgan has to drive you to work. Not only that but when you were running late the other day while I wasn't home, he called me ten times. Which, I couldn't answer because I was in the middle of a tattoo. So he sent Emily to make sure I wasn't dead and he kicked down our fucking door to make sure you weren't dead."

"Right. And for the record, I didn't 'wreck my car', I got rear-ended. There's a difference."

"Right.", she dragged out the vowel to emphasize her sarcasm, "And I don't know why you won't just take my car."

"Because I'm pretty sure you love that thing more than me."

"Not true.", he looked at her condescendingly, "I don't love a car more than you. However, if you messed up said car in any way, shape, or form--I would kill you."

"Exactly."

~~~~~~~
Despite their best efforts--kind of--they were still running behind. They busted through the front door of their new house, Atticus in front with Spencer trailing right behind. His tie not even--tied and half of the things that belonged in his bag in his hands. He lifted one of Atti's legs by the ankle to tie her shoelace, making her stop in her tracks. She looked up when she heard snickering coming from the car in front of them, with Derek behind the wheel, Garcia in the passenger seat, and Emily in the back.
She laughed, "Geez, Derek, what are you? Their chauffeur?"
"Yeah, yeah. Laugh it up, Parker."
"Hey, Att?", Emily was struggling to keep back giggles, "What's on your neck?"
Atticus didn't even have to think, she just lightly pushed Spencer's head to the side, "God damn it, Spence."
"Ow!"
"Oh. My. God. You are fine.", he pouted, "You're such a baby.", she giggled and pulled him in for a kiss as she finished tying his tie. She stopped in her tracks on the way to her own car, "Oh! I'm working a double at the diner tonight, so I probably won't be home until later."
"Ok. Love you!"
"Love you too!"
"Wait! Are we still on for bachelor-bachelorette parties this weekend?", Penelope asked.
"Party.", the couple corrected in unison. They decided they would just do one party, because--well, they were mostly doing it for Penelope, who was beyond excited. And they're gonna spend the rest of their lives together anyway, so who cares?
"Yes! Party."
"Then yes, we are still having a party."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Spencer was sitting on the couch when Atticus busted through the front door. She unlaced her Converse and ripped down her ponytail, all in silence, which is unusual--to say the least, for her. She ripped the book from Spencer's hand, closed it, and threw it onto the coffee table, collapsing on top of him. He wrapped his arms around her instinctively, "What happened?"

"Where do I even begin?", she chuckled, "First, some stupid drunk fuck screamed at me this morning because I wouldn't tattoo him since he was drunk as a motherfucking skunk. It was also 11 AM! Who in the fuck is getting that wasted that damn early?!", she sat up a little and cut off Spencer as he went to open his mouth, "Oh, don't worry, it gets better. You'll never guess how many people spilled fucking hot ass coffee on me today."

"How many?"

"Seven! Seven fucking people! Do you know how many of those seven proceeded to yell at me that it was my fault? Four! What in the fuck causes people to lose all of their fucking brain cells the second they step into a restaurant?! Motherfucker, I am literally trying to help you! It's my fucking job! The least you could do for being such a dick is fucking tip! But no, no one can fucking do that either!", she took a deep breath, "Remind me to never cover for anyone ever again."

"Ok.", he chuckled.

"Why are you laughing at me?", she pouted.

"I can't help it. You're very cute, Bubba. But, I'm sorry you had such a bad day.", he cupped her cheek and kissed her softly, "You look tired, baby."

"Well, yeah. It's already 12:30. I'm surprised you're still up."

"It's kinda hard to sleep without you. I'm not used to being in such a big space while you're gone for that long."

"Yeah?", she giggled and he nodded, "Well hopefully, soon there will be more people around here.", he smiled at what she was implying before getting up to carry her to bed.

He put her down, her legs hanging over the edge, not being able to touch the ground. She slipped into some sweats and a Harvard t-shirt, scrolling through her phone while waiting for Spencer to get out of the shower.

Att couldn't help but giggle at his sopping wet curls. He got into bed next to her and pulled her closer, entangling their limbs as she fell asleep almost instantly. He spent a few minutes whispering little 'I love you''s and sweet nothings even though she wouldn't hear them before falling asleep himself.

a/n: why do i never know how to fucking end this shit. anyway, this was kinda a filler chapter but I still thought it was pretty cute. also, originally they were supposed to have a lot more bad shit happen to them, but my babies deserve a happy ending lol.<3
