a/n: i present to you, all of the team figuring out that Atticus is pregnant by profiling her lol. and then Spencer and Att announcing to everyone officially.

JJ was the first to figure it out, obviously. She was the only one who knew the couple was even trying to have a baby. Not to mention that she had been through this exact thing so there was no way she missed the way Atti was glowing suddenly. This same thing is what sent Hotch down the same road of speculation. He knew that look from when Hayley was pregnant with Jack. And the both of them certainly noticed the bright smiles that Spencer and Atticus exchanged more often, how Spencer suddenly didn't have a problem with affection. Rossi picked up on some minor behaviors that made him question but it wasn't until Aaron brought it up with him one late night at the office that he was sure of his suspicions.

Derek and Emily had noticed that the two of them had looked way more lovestruck lately but didn't really think much of it at first. The things that made them so sure was that Atti scrunched up her nose at the smell of certain drinks when they went to bars, and how Spencer would rub between the two tendons on her wrist (Emily recalling that this technique was known to relieve nausea), but everyone, with the exception of Penelope, noticed the way the would both rest their hands over her lower stomach.

Garcia was the last to suspect. And the way she started questioning was the most Penelope Garcia way. She had started to notice that Atticus, who was a known fashionista, began to dress in strictly loose baggy clothes. Sometimes going as far as wearing Spencer's clothes, that she practically drowned in due to the height difference. 

It wasn't that they didn't want to tell them. In fact, they were so excited they wanted to tell everyone they knew immediately. But they decided to hold off, both to make sure that everything stayed on the right track and to keep their joyful secret a little longer.

And being patient and keeping it under wraps was going incredibly well. However, a problem arose when the BAU actually had a weekend off and a pool party at Rossi's was suggested to celebrate. And when JJ asked if she and Spencer would be joining them, she panicked and said 'yes' instead of declining as any rational person would. 

The second they stepped back into their house, Atti's gates keeping all her anxiety broke loose. 

"Why? Why in the world would I say that? What the fuck is wrong with me? I get pregnant and all of a sudden my IQ's turned to 60."

"Bubba, it's ok. You don't have to get in the water or even wear a swimsuit or anything like that. You can still just wear your normal clothes."

"Well, that's still gonna be a little bit of a problem, considering that most of my clothes don't fit and would barely hide anything. And I'm honestly thinking we should just tell them."

"Ok. We can do that."

For the first quarter of the party, Atticus buzzed with nerves. She didn't know why. She knew that everyone would be thrilled. And the only thing that broke her out of her haze was Penelope's voice ringing through her ears.

"Atti! We're supposed to be having fun! And you sitting on the sidelines isn't as fun. What happened to the party girl who lives by 'If you got it, flaunt it'? Because I am seeing a lot of got it and not a ton of flaunting it."

The hidden compliments made her laugh under her breath, "She's still here, just not a huge fan of water.", she shrugged.

"Parker, one of your favorite places is the beach. We've seen you dive headfirst into the freezing water.", Derek chuckled.
