The Breakfast Club.
12th of November, 2010.
Apartment 8, Kensington Palace - Princess Coraline's Residence.
Coraline, Chelsy, Keira, Karen McDonald, Victoria Beckham and Rory Taylor were the fine women who organized breakfast once every few months when each were free. With all of them having busy lifestyles and careers, their 'legendary' morning meals only occurred once in a while.
They all sat around Coraline's dining table, an array of eggs benedict, pancakes, and a variety of breakfast foods scattered around the surface. Their conversation surrounding the topic of William's engagement. "He and Kate have declared that they're converting to Catholicism after the wedding."
Victoria almost gasped. "But then he's removed from the line of succession."
Coraline nodded. "And their kids. It'll be hidden from the public until the throne has to be passed on. No one will notice because the kids would still be baptized and all. So basically, Harry's next in line."
"Good luck to him."
Chelsy arose, placing her napkin beside her plate. "Keira and I are getting extra toast and eggs, any of you want anything?" After having random foods asked of them, the pair disappeared into the kitchen.
A fairly distinctive knock echoed as the blonde called out. "Come in, Martin."
The private secretary nodded, stepping aside to reveal a certain actor Coraline was meant to be flying to the very next day. She jumped out of her seat, instantly wrapping him up in a hug. "I didn't know you were coming! I've got my stuff packed for tomorrow!" She babbled, almost forgetting the other women in the area. "Sorry. Matthew, this is Karen, Victoria and Rory. Everyone, this is Matthew."
Matthew pretended as if he didn't notice the famous name sitting at the same table he sat at, gingerly sitting down. "How do you guys know Cora?"
"I met her at one of my dad's concerts." Rory grinned, nudging the princess.
"She was at one of my fashion shows."
"She was engaged to my brother." Karen blurted, her Scottish accent sending a wave of panic through her friend.
She instantly began protesting. "It was very short lived, right before uni. It was nothing."
The other woman scoffed cheekily. "Are you kidding? You guys were so in love. The only reason you didn't get married was because of uni."
"And the 16 year age gap." Rory added.
"And maybe the fact that we dated for a few months?" Coraline let out a nervous laugh.
Keira and Chelsy had returned with platefuls of eggs and toast wedged into their mouths, setting the food down before greeting the newbie. "Hi, Matthew."
Victoria raised her eyebrows. "How do you know Matthew?"
"He's Cora's boyfriend."
It was so visible how their hearts dropped, realizing their mistake of carelessly flaunting Coraline's prior engagement to a Scottish actor. Huffing, Coraline pulled her boyfriend by the wrist, guiding him to the more private living room. She anxiously scanned his face for any sign of anger, but all she found was hurt. Clutching his face in her hands, she stretched her lips into a thin line. "I'm sorry. Are you cross?"
Matthew raised his head back slightly, eyes on the ceiling before looking down at her, more precisely, her hair as he held back a smile at her British vocabulary. "I'm not mad. It's just- why didn't you tell me?"
