Carpe Diem.

5th of June, 2012.

St. Paul's Cathedral - National Service of Thanksgiving in Honor of Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee.

Making sure her fascinator had been secured, lipstick perfect by rubbing her lips together, Coraline turned to her fiancé excitedly, nudging his foot with her heel despite the vast legroom in the car on the trip to the cathedral.

"Excited for your first jubilee?"

Matthew grinned at her antsy behavior. "Very."

"We'll sit through the service, after we have lunch, then we're off to the house for the fly-past."

He nodded in awe, placing a kiss to their intertwined hands, tugging on hers lightly as they go out of their car, silently greeting her brothers, father and step mother as they waved to the cheering crowd.

The couple walked through the historical landmark, unable to hold hands due to the distaste for PDA in the cathedral. They took their seats, hands finally joining, his finger brushing over the metal band of her engagement ring as they listened intently to the Archbishop of Canterbury speak of the queen's successful 60 years in power.

It would be a while before they got back into the car, on their way to Westminster Hall for lunch. "Enjoy yourself?"

"Mhm. It was very inspiring." Coraline giggled at his response. "I was thinking, I know we wanted to do a small wedding, but that cathedral is really nice."

She quirked an eyebrow at him. "St. Paul's? It's the second biggest in the country. Quite the opposite of what we talked about, what you wanted."

Matthew nodded, shrugging. "Yeah, but then I thought about it. We're only going to have one wedding Cora, why don't we just, go big? Big ceremony, big reception."

The princess smirked at him. "Let's do it."

The rest of the car ride had been silent as she watched the city of London pass her by through the window, her imagination running wild at the thought of her wedding day, once again waving to those who cheered at her. She never thought she'd marry in the same cathedral her parents did, but it was a nice thought.

They arrived at Westminster, entering the busy hall. "The next hour or so is going to be just politicians blabbering on and on." Coraline warned, squeezing his hand.

"Guess we'll have to count on each other to be entertained."

Giggling, the blonde nodded and promised she'd return quickly before scurrying off to a certain prime minister. "Your royal highness," David Cameron bowed his head. "to what do I owe the pleasure?"

She forced a wide smile. "I just wanted to say thank you. I know you played a big part in approving my engagement."

"All is good. I dislike you, you dislike me, we work. I assume your family will be paying a big sum for the wedding?"

"Actually, Matthew and I are paying for it ourselves."

"That's," He cleared his throat. "good."

She sauntered away with a charming smile, only to be caught by her brother. "Did I just see you speak to David Cameron?" William queried, confusion written on his forehead.

"I have to thank him, or else I'll never hear the end of it."

He nodded. "Right, yes. Your engagement." The duke took in a deep breath. "A bit quick, isn't it? I mean, you're only 25, you have all the time in the world."
