A Lifetime With You.
29th of April, 2011 - The Wedding Day of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Westminster Abbey.
Kate was mere minutes away from descending down the aisle when Coraline had reluctantly pulled her grandparents away from conversation and over to her nervous boyfriend.
"Granny, grandpapa, this is Matthew. My boyfriend." She introduced.
Matthew bowed his head, a smooth action that was followed by a string of turbulent words. "Your royal majesty, it's great to meet you, ma'am, sir."
The elder couple broke out into a fit of quiet laughter, Philip extending his hand. "Lovely to meet you, Matthew. Please, call me Philip and her Elizabeth." The actor was baffled, slowly taking his hand and shaking it.
Elizabeth didn't extend her hand, but she did greet him with a warm grin. "Very pleasant to meet you. As Philip said, please do call me Elizabeth."
Suddenly, Kate's chosen song had begun playing and every found their seats, Matthew being placed between his girlfriend and his father, while she was happy with the presence of Eugenie on her other side. Coraline sent a joking wink at Harry who stood by William in his place as best man. The ginger grinned in response, shaking his head lightly.
Looking back to Matthew, a small smile fell on her face when she saw he was already looking at her, intertwining their hands and resting them on his thigh. "We're on TV right now." She reminded.
"I love you."
Lips forming a pout, she responded, heart bursting with love. "I love you, more."
All eyes were on Kate as she joined William at the end of the red carpet, causing Matthew to lean into the blonde, whispering. "That's the tiara you wore when we met."
"I loaned it to her." He nodded, keeping a tight grip on her hand as the event carried on. When everyone stood up including her, their hands hanging as he remained seated, she quickly ushered him up. "National anthem." Coraline passed him a lyric book, singing with the rest of the crowd in Westminster.
They were once seated again, listening to the Archbishop who'd begun his awfully long monologue before getting to the real question. "William Arthur Philip Louis, wilt thou have this woman to thy wedded wife, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto her, so long as ye both shall live?"
"I will." The princess let out a sigh of relief, making Matthew quietly chuckle as he kissed her hand.
"Catherine Elizabeth, wilt thou have this man to thy wedded husband, to live together according to God's law in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all other, keep thee only unto him, so long as ye both shall live?"
"I will."
Eugenie leaned into her cousin, eyes narrowed. "What the hell is he saying? I can barely understand, he's so drab."
Coraline made sure to giggle quietly. "Just asking if they want to marry each other and all." Soon enough, the ring exchange had come and Harry spared a look at his sister, the pair of them smirking at William's struggle to get the ring on his wife's hand and it was in no time when the guests had to stand again with lyric books as the bride and groom did the same before retreating to their own chairs.
James, Kate's brother, had started his reading, threatening the young royal to fall asleep, head almost lulling on Matthew's shoulder until the faint realization of where she was snapped her out of it. If the reading wasn't enough, the choir was certainly a competitor that could know her out. "It's like a competition on who could send everyone to sleep." Eugenie commented, her own eyes widened in an attempt to stay lively.
