It's really irritating when reading a really good book and then boom - a big plot twist that makes no fucking sense. Like I get it, creative juices flowing we just trying to write that shit down asap. i- just no. Please don't. If you're going to switch the story up, then write a different one.

Do whatever you want but does it make sense to your story line. Feel free to end the book on maybe a nice note or idk end it on a tragic note (like being hit by a car). It's just, is its I'm the middle it's like- why? I've dropped so many stories - not just about MCYT - because someone got hit by a bus or some shit and there was still 18 chapters to go. That's isn't plot it's an excuse to keep writing.
I make a plan with most of my books, make sure I'm not writing stuff in for shits and giggles.
DUDE you could even do a one-shot or something. Then you can put all those random ideas into one book, while simultaneously working on your writing skills. It's a win win.
