Hiccup
'I pray we find that demon soon' was the thought that went through my head as we left the meeting that lasted over three hours. The sun was almost set, the orange rays of light coming through one of the large windows in the hallway. We came to a stop, standing in front of the window seat and looking over the ocean and some of the town.
"You sure you're ready for this bro" Toothless looked at me with concern in his acid-green eyes.
"Honestly, no. But we have to put an end to this" I said, not looking away from the window.
Toothless
Hiccup's scared, I can tell. We've been together our whole lives, we know basically everything about each other. I stared at him for a few seconds, then pushed my snout into his hand and purred to get him to look at me. He finally did, smiled, and pet my head, running his fingers over the line of bumps on my forehead.
"I'll be alright bud" he whispered.
Next morning
I let my brother sleep in for once, I could go one day without our sunrise flight so I just laid by the window to watch the sun rise and wait. The sun was almost completely over the horizon when I heard Hiccup moving. I looked behind me and immediately I could tell he wasn't awake. 'He's having a nightmare, again'. He doesn't get them as often as when we where younger, but he still gets 'em pretty bad. I slowly walked closer to his bed, the dark green sheets gathered at his waist leaving is torso exposed, showing his tattoos, scars and muscle. I sat down and gently put my head on his chest and purred like how our matka did when we were hatchlings. His breathing calmed down almost immediately, slowly opening his bright green eyes. He placed his hand on my snout, a gestor I knew was him thanking me.
After a few minutes he finally got up and put on his usual get-up, then we headed to the Dinning Hall. During breakfast we found out about the three new riders. Hiccup had praised Sky for how well she did teaching them the basics. I got a basket of cod and was more focused on eating than what the riders were talking about, since I missed dinner. After I finished my fish I talked to Gunda and Safie, getting to know the two dragoness' a bit.
"C'mon bud" Hiccup called me from the door. I hadn't noticed that he and the other riders had left.
Third
Toothless and the other six dragons quickly caught up to their riders outside the Dinning Hall. The group made their way through the hallway and outside into the sunlight. Toothless and Gunda both purred when they felt the warm light hit their dark scales. Hiccup simply chuckled at his brother. The 20yr old turned and walked through the already busy streets, the others following.
"Hey Hiccup, where are we going" Fishlegs asked the question on the other humans minds.
"You'll see, it's not to much farther" was the Mana Dragons answer, a small smile on his lips.
After a shortish walk they came to a stop on a cliff overlooking the ocean. The tree line stopped a good twenty feet from the edge. Hiccup walked right up to the edge and knelled at the edge, planting a hand in the healthy green grass below him. His eyes closed as he took in a deep breath of the ocean air. He heard the humans behind him mumbling things like 'cool' and 'beautiful'. He stood up and looked over at his brother, the smile still on his face. Toothless bumped his head against Hiccups' shoulder, a purr emitting from his throat.
"What ya say bud, wanna take that flight" he whispered, smirking. Toothless gave him that 'do you really have to ask' look and the older chuckled, getting on the saddle and taking off laughing. They did all sorts of tricks, more crazy than normal. Sky watched the human riders faces more than the brothers, just barely holding in her laughter. She was almost certain Hiccup was trying to give them a heart attack. When the two landed after a few minutes and saw their faces Hiccup burst out laughing. Sky finally broke, laughing her ass off. The dragons joined in on laughing at the humans.
"Man, y'all should see the look on your faces" she laughed, her arms wrapped around her stomach.
"Do you have a death wish Hiccup" Astrid yelled, finally snapping out of her shock.
"Chill Astrid. I've been doing stuff like that since I was a kid, I know what I'm doing" Hiccup sat on Toothless calm as can be.
"Besides, some riders would think that was tame" Sky threw in, slowly recovering from laughing so hard. The five humans looked at her like she had two heads.
"That's tame!" Fishlegs yelled, shocked and slightly pale.
"Considering some of the crap I do, yea" Hiccup chuckled, "Besides, some of those moves are pretty common for us"
After that Hiccup and Sky took the humans and their dragons back to the beach to continue their training. Though Hiccup and Toothless did more watching than training, letting Sky do most of the teaching, throwing in their input when they deemed it necessary. The two brothers lounged on a sea stack as Sky and Astrid showed the other how to properly sit on a dragons back.
"Relax a bit Fishlegs. You're gonna fall" Hiccup yelled at the blonde. Said blonde sat on Meatlug with his spine stiff as a board and not holding onto the dragoness at all. The 20yr old Mana Dragon could tell that the man was not listening to him. So he sighed and jumped onto Toothless' back, flying up next to Fishlegs and lightly, for dragons anyway, smacked him upside the head. The dragon geek fell forward onto Meatlugs' head, then quickly sat back up.
"What was that for" he rubbed the back of his head.
"You're not listening. You're lucky you didn't completely fall off her" the prince said, a barely there smirk on his face, "You need to relax your body, stop being so tense." Fishlegs glanced at the way Hiccup sat on Toothless, his body lax, one hand on the handle bar of his saddle and the other lazily draped over his knee. The blonde fixed his body, relaxing his spine and shoulders, grabbing ahold of the handles of Meatlugs saddle. Hiccup watched him with a smile.
"The boy is a good listener, sometimes" Meatlug purred.
