"Hey Useless" called the annoying voice of beefy, eight year old Snotlout.  Eight year old Hiccups eyes widened in fear as his instincts took over him and he bolted. He ran as fast as his little feet could take him as Snotlout screamed after him,
"Hey! Where you going!? Running away from your problems again Useless!? " Snotlout continued to mock the smaller boy as he ran after him. Hiccup ran until he was at the base of a giant oak tree. He turned to see Snotlout gaining on him, his eyes widened as fear gripped his heart. Hiccup did the only thing he could think of at the moment.

He climbed.

He's climbed trees before, but never one this big. But under the circumstances he didn't care about his lack of knowledge. He continued to climb with surprising ease as his only thought was to put as much distance between him and Snotlout as possible.
"Hiccup! Get down here now! " Snotlout yelled at him, anger clean in his voice as he tried, and failed, to climb after him.
A sudden flash of light followed by a boom of thunder resonating from a short distance away. Snotlout changed his tone from mocking to concern as he yelled,
"Hiccup! Get down, now, a storm is coming! "
The small boy shook his head as he sat upon a big branch near the top. Snotlout then yelled, "come on Hiccup! I was just playing around! Please come down! "
"No" Hiccup yelled back, "you're just going to beat me up! "
"Hiccup! You'll get struck by Thor if you don't get down! " The boy gave no response. Snotlout growled as he yelled, "FINE! I'LL GET STOICK TO GET YOU DOWN! "
Hiccup took a deep breath as he heard another boom, closer this time. He looked at the ground and saw that Snotlout was gone and signed as the relief flowed through him. He was about to make his way down when a flash of lightning enveloped him. He felt the electricity run through his body. Felt the warmth flow through every muscle and bone in his entire body. He wanted to scream, but couldn't as he blacked out as he fell.

With Stoick

"Hiccups where?!" He yelled as he listened to his nephews case.
"He's in a giant oak tree-"
"You let my boy climb a tree? Thor all mighty!" He boomed as Snotlout cowered.
"N-No! I was chasing him an-"
"CHASING HIM!?!?" Stoick roared as he shot up from his chair, glaring at the young viking. Snotlout quaked in fear as his mind immediately decided that going to Hiccups dad was a bad idea. The large viking paced for a few seconds as he fumed, then finally rounded upon Snotlout and said in a dangerous voice,
"I'll deal with YOU later. Right now, my first priority is making sure my son is safe, understand? " Snotlout nodded.
"Now, lead the way"

When they came to the base of the tree, they gasped in pure shock as they saw Hiccup on the ground.
"Hiccup" Stoick whispered as he knelt next to the small boy.
"Get Gothi boy" Stoick ordered in a small, dangerous voice. Snotlout, however, didn't move as he was paralyzed with guilt.
"NOW" Stoick snapped at his nephew. The boy nodded and ran, Stoick looked at his son and silently stroked Hiccups hair as he murmured prayers to the gods.

In Hiccups Mind

"He's to young to understand" a strong but gentle feminine voice said, echoing softly in the darkness. Hiccup recognized the voice, but couldn't place it.
"H-Hello" He called out, scared.
"I know my mate, I know, but it has to be now, while he's still young and has more time to learn", a deep male voice said, answering the female.
"Alright my love", the female replied with a sigh.
" Mother " Hiccup called out, now realising the voice as his birth mother.
The darkness around him suddenly changed into a forest clearing, illuminated with glowing plants. Hiccup quickly stood up, frantically looking for his mother. He heard rustling in front of him and out of the trees came a dragon 1/3 the size of a Bewilderbeast. Said dragon was Valarie or Valka as she likes to be called. She was Hiccups mother.
"Mother" Hiccup yelled running to her. The big dragoness lowered herself to the ground so her son could hug her thick neck. She smiled, or as close to smiling as a dragon could.
"I'm happy to see you my son" Valarie purred, greeting her second eldest hatchling. Her voice very soft and sweet.
"The Emperor and Empress have been treating you well my child", the deep male voice said. After which a large red dragon with a yellow belly, that was about 2/3 the size of a Bewilderbeast, appeared next to Valarie.
Hiccup stayed close to his mother, hugging her neck tightly as he looked at the large male.

"Hiccup, sweetie, its okay" Valarie said softly, '' this is you father, Igneel"

Hiccup, still staying close to his mother, slowly reached out with his left hand towards Igneel. In turn, he lowered his head enough so that Hiccups hand touched the middle of his nose, between his nostrils. He closed his golden eyes, a sign of complete trust.

"I'm sorry that you were brought here like this but it was our only way" Igneel said to his son. His voice was deep but still had a soft tone to it.

"What do you mean" Hiccup asked, but before either dragon could respond, everything went black.

*******************************

Hiccup woke up in the arms of Stoick, who was cradling Hiccup with tears in his eyes.

"Dad?" Hiccup asked confused. The big viking looked at Hiccup in total shock.

"Hiccup?"

"Yes, Dad?"

Tears of joy started running down his face as he squeezed his son in a hug.

"Thank Thor! Your okay! Oh thank the gods, thank... thank goodness" he sobbed into his son as Hiccup just sat there. Why is he acting like this? He asked himself.

As a little boy, he was confused. He didn't know that he should've been dead, that Stoick thought that Hiccup would never wake. Through the whole week, he didn't know why everyone stared at him with utter shock when he walked around completely fine.

He ultimately forgot about the dream, save the images of his parents. And he didn't notice the lightning mark that appeared just below his left collarbone either.
