Everyone was quiet, other than a few people in the back who were whispering. In public the man always seemed so proud of Astrid. While it's true that everyone wants a son, any father would be happy with Astrid as a daughter.
Those closer to the front of the crowd were silent. Either from shock or fear. Fear of both the Hofferson womens' anger and\or the growling and hissing Nadder next to them. Hiccup hopped off Toothless to calm down the three angry females. He put a hand on both Astrids' shoulder and Stormflys' neck. The dragon stopped hissing and growling, her rider wasn't as tense but she was obviously still pissed.
Gobber moved from his spot next to Stoick after Hiccup removed his hands from dragon and rider. The blacksmith pulled the 6' dragon rider into a bone crushing hug.
"Gobber.. can't... breathe" Gobber let him go, Toothless had to catch him so he could catch his breath.
"Good to see you too Gobber" Hiccup smiled at the human who was much like a father to him. Stoick tried to get closer to him but Toothless and the two Nightmares -one of whom was Scorched- growled at the chief. Hiccups' mood quickly switched from happy to angry. He glared at the man, pretty much daring him to come closer. Stoick stopped mid step.
"Why are you here son" Stoick questioned. The 20yr old rider growled deep in his throat, though the humans around him couldn't hear.
"Don't call me 'son'. I never have and never will be" he growled "And for your information, we were just passing by before you tried to shoot us down" He volted back onto Toothless' saddle "Come on Astrid, let's go"
Said woman moved to get back on her dragon, "Wait" Alexa grabbed Astrid by her elbow before she could, "Let me come with you. I can't live here anymore"
"Us too" Hermana, Fishlegs and Gobber said. The girl shared a look with Hiccup, who nodded, giving the okay. She gently removed Alexas' hand, then helped her onto Stormflys' saddle behind where she sat. Scorched allowed Gobber on his back. The other Nightmare -a blue female named Aroara- helped the two Ingermans onto her back.
Of course people were yelling at them, but they ignored them. As soon as the four were situated, the four dragons took off.
Hiccup and Toothless decided to reschedule the meeting they were originally going to. The people they were suppose to meet weren't happy but didn't complain, much. They flew back to Dragons Edge, deciding to go the same day next week and take a different route. To help the four humans adjust to their new home on the Edge.
