Reality. Isn’t it funny when it seems to just slap you in the face? Well, I guess I should explain what I mean exactly by this. Life goes on, following the script per usual, until one thing decides to jump out and do the unexpected. Taken back by this disruption in the routine of everyday life, you believe it’s too good to be true or just a game. That it’s a joke and you’ll end up being the punch line. But in the end, you decide to take a chance, a leap of faith. You fall for the actions and the words, believing they are sincere. Until… You get a reality check when it slaps you in the face. Taken back by it, initially, you don’t know how to react. Left standing there, dumbfound, for a short while until you wake up and process what had happened. You’re gut had been right, but you had decided to ignore it. Regret flows through you like a rushing river. None-the-less, you know you have to keep on with life. Unless life has a different plan…

Waking up to my annoying alarm, I slapped it in an attempt to silence the ongoing beeping. Finally finding the snooze button, I shut it off before sitting up. Yawning, I stretched my arms and rubbed my eyes while trying to adjust them to the brightness.

Getting up, I went into my bathroom groggily. I quickly washed my face, brushed my teeth, and brushed my hair. When I was done with that I went to my closet to find my outfit for the day. I picked out a burgundy, frill hem top, some teal green jeans, a black leather jacket, my black, concealed wedge heel, hi-top, sneakers, and to complete it, a gold, bow necklace. After I threw on my outfit, I went back in the bathroom and put on foundation, a light blue eye shadow, and a clear lip-gloss. I then proceeded by curling my hair into large curls. I left my hair down deciding to keep it simple with only sparkling braided headband. After I put a topcoat on my freshly painted nails that I did last night.

After I was done, I checked over my outfit in the mirror one last time before nodding, satisfied. With that, I grabbed my blue mini mix woven purse and my phone and headed downstairs. I ran into the kitchen and grab a protein bar before heading out the door and jumping into Delia's car.

On the way to school, we all talked about our nights and the homework. It wasn't long before Paige asked about the tutoring. "So, how was tutoring with Trenton? Is he as bad as everyone says?" Paige asked. “Surprisingly, it went really well. And no he isn't as bad as everyone says," I replied, attempting to keep it moderately vague and to end the conversation as soon as possible. Paige, being the awesome psychic best friend she is, just nodded in response.

When we got to school, we all got out of the car and Delia locked it before we all walked to school. Now to get into school, you have to walk through the forecourts. Also, it is where Trenton hangs out every morning. I realized this morning that I had forgotten to ask him if he wanted to study tonight to prepare for tomorrow’s math test. I figured I could just ask him today.

Walking through the forecourt, I looked over in Trenton’s direction and caught his eyes. I gave him a small smile, only to receive him turning his back towards me so he could no longer see me. Hmm.. Maybe he didn’t actually see me. I shrugged it off and headed inside with my friends. “Hey, I’ll meet you guys in French. I have to run to my locker first.” They all nodded and we parted ways.

I went to my locker and changed the textbooks I was currently holding for my French textbook and binder. I closed my locker and turned around just in time to see The 5 walking in. Might as well go ahead and ask him now. I walked over to them and tapped Trenton on the shoulder. He turned around confused, probably about who would dare come up and tap him. You cannot forget; this is the bad boy we are talking about here, pretty much everyone here is intimidated by him.
