Lost Queen

Part 2.

A month passed after the class started and everyone's busy to complete their stars to be able to cast magic. You have to complete linking six stars without breaking the link to be able to release a level one magic and cultivate it to release a strong one. 

In that one month, Mew keeps noticing Gulf. He always look at the other and he sometimes find himself smiling while staring at him. He already knows Gulf's favorite foods and his favorite "Okay" word. Mew also knows that Gulf stays in the dorm, works at the dean's office, he feeds stray cats inside the school premises and he is one hella quiet. Mew doesn't know why but he always find his eyes following Gulf always like there's something that pulls him.

"Okay, so since we have two fire affinities, one ice and one lightning, we will do the training by pairs. Perawat, you pair with Nattapol and Jongcheveevat you pair with Kanawut. Know your partner, they will save you in time of danger" The instructor said as he rolled out the pairs. The ever noisy Singto is paired with Tay.

Gulf shake his head, he is paired to the soon to be king of the country and they said the clan with the most powerful fire power.

"Hi, I'm Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat" Mew extends his hand for a handshake to Gulf.

"Gulf Kanawut" Gulf looked at Mew's face and then looked at his hand, he hesitated for a bit but decided to take his hand. A wave of electricity flows when their flesh touched, both released the hand of the other right away due to that natural spark. Their ears baked red but no one spoke.

"uhm.. How many stars were you able to link?" Mew asks to chase the awkwardness away. Mew is considered the strongest in the class except for Gulf as mid tier mage already can easily cast a spiel for his lightning but decided not to let anyone show it.

"Just four" Gulf timidly answered and Mew just smiled at him. Mew got six stars and just cultivating so he can release a stronger magic.

"Uy! I heard that we will have duels soon and the magic exam is coming." Singto butted in which Gulf is thankful for. Singto is everyone's friend but he clings to Gulf most of the time.

"Yes, I heard that too." Mew said showing his million dollar smile to Singto without him knowing he is making Gulf's heart skip a beat.

"Let's go to the training room" Mew turned towards Gulf "I think we can try to strengthen the link of our stars to easily cast a magic" Gulf shyly nodded. It'll be just the two of them inside the training room.

They both left leaving Singto alone who pouts, he wanted to follow Gulf but he got his own partner that he can't abandon.

Mew and Gulf walk side by side to the training room. Their visual is good. Mew is natural famous because of his status but Guf is different, he became famous because of his lightning affinity and him being good looking and cold.

Mew pushed the door open and let Gulf enter first. Mew set up a dummy and make space for them while Gulf's mind is busy with unnecessary things. He doesn't know why he is attracted to Mew. He heard the news that Mew's already married and he doesn't want to be a third party, he is not a home wrecker.

First agenda they have is know each other better and build connection.

"Gulf, I have a question" Mew talks first cause he know that Gulf won't initiate the conversation. "Where do you live?"

"Dorm" Gulf answered making Mew's brows creased.

"I mean aside from the dorm, like ypur family home" Mew clarified, Gulf just looked at him confused.

"All I can remember is I live in the dorm. Somehow my memory got erased" Gulf sighs, it's the first time that he shared about that to someone. He trust the future king, he will spread rumors about him.

"I- I am sorry, I didn't mean to pry" Mew sincerely said making Gulf smile. That smile once again warms Mew's heart.

"don't be it's okay" Gulf smiled at Mew again.

"Uhm, i-if you don't mind me asking, are you single?" Mew asks, Gulf frowned at the question he knows that the future king is married and marriage is sacred. Also, he is too. Gulf is also a married man.

"I am not" He answered. His heart thumps louder than it usually does but he decides to play oblivious to it. Mew on the other is no different, he feels being led on though he is not. He doesn't know what he feels but that tugging in his heart is something he can't ignore.

"Uhmm, let's train. If you have questions about me you can just ask" Mew said as he sits opposite to Gulf.

Gulf hesitated but his curiosity is overflowing, "Does you wife study here too?" He asked. Mew flashed a sad smile.

"I don't know where my wife is" Mew honestly said. It is not known throughout the country that his wife is missing but he is somewhat confident and trust Gulf.

"Ow" Gulf said, before he close his eyes and starts his cultivation.

Gulf got startled by a loud bang. Mew was able to release the level one magic 'fire burst'. Gulf smiled to himself, he felt proud that Mew able to cast a magic. He is the first aside from Gulf himself.

He clapped making Mew look at him. "You did great"

Mew mouthed a 'thank you' and trotted to him to hug Gulf which startled both of them. Mew didn't know what comes to him to hug Gulf, maybe he is just happy. Gulf patted Mew's back before they parted from the hug with both cheeks flushed red.

Mew awkwardly smiled and scratch his head making Gulf shake his head. Maybe getting to know the future king is good for him and his heart.
