No one's POV.

Gulf is just following Mo Fan from behind. They walked to the duel room arena, Gulf got confused why.

"Why are we here?" Gulf asked when Mo Fan suddenly stopped in the middle of arena.

"I have a question" Mo Fan paused for a bit, he looked around first though he already made sure that they are the only ones occupying the arena. "Everyone regards you as a dangerous person. You cannot hide you powers forever"

"I know that already. I know that everyone is wary of me" Gulf said. He already knows, he can hear the gossips.

"We want you to withdraw at the duel competition, just take the examination but I forbid you to go to the duel. You're still gonna pass, I'll make sure of it" Mo Fan said, after all he got the most formidable background and reputation.

"I refused." Gulf said, making his instructor's brow raised.

"There are other people who is after you, Gulf" Mo Fan said, he genuinely cared for Gulf not just because he is his student but he knows him personally too. He knows Gulf before his amnesia.

"I can protect myself." Gulf stubbornly said, he is confident in his own skills. He knows he can easily protect himself and handle easily a mage or two.

"It's not just you, Gulf. If you don't withdraw, they will hurt Mew. I know how you care for Mew and I know your feelings for him" It made Gulf twitch. Of all people, he doesn't want to drag Mew into the unknown danger. He won't forgive himself if something happens to them, most especially with Mew. He grew to like the other guy.

"Why would they go after Mew? Mew got his own bodyguards right? he is the future king after all. And what do you know?" Gulf said, though he doesn't want to drag Mew into danger, he himself knows that it would be the best way to prove himself to everyone.

"What do I know? I know you, Gulf" Mo Fan's answer made Gulf confused. He doesn't know what does his instructor meant by saying he knows him. Gulf's eyes widened with his sudden realization, he must knew him prior the incident.

"I cannot remember anything. I don't know... argghh" Gulf fisted on his hair. His head hurts and he doesn't know why. Mo Fan immediately rushed to help Gulf. The memory bug that is on Gulf's neck showed and it's getting bigger. That explains why Gulf can't remember anything about his past at all.

If Gulf force himself to remember his past, the memory bug will mature faster and eventually will lead it to his death.

"Gulf! Gulf!" Mo Fan calls him out but it seems Gulf is already unconscious. He just can't remove the memory bug out of Gulf's neck since it may lead to Gulf's sudden death. The only way to remove it is for the caster him to have it removed or if the caster dies but they have no idea who might be the caster is. He might just be around pretending or in the shadows watching, no one knows.

Mo Fan picked up Gulf in his hands and carry him bridal style to the infirmary.

They passed the classroom, Mew immediately spotted them and jog towards Mo Fan.

"What happened to him? Why is he unconscious? What did you do to him?" He asked consecutively. He is worried for Gulf.

"Mew, do him a favor." Mo Fan turned his head to Mew while still carrying Gulf. "Make sure you are safe and Gulf himself and around him is danger. You have to be careful all the time and Gulf wishes you to be well too" Mo fan said and Mew just nodded. "Also, convince him not to participate in the duel. It's for the both you"

"but the duel is necessary to advance and if Gulf won't take it then he may not pass... and why Gulf is taking it? I mean it should be just duel with students right? cause if it's duel with a mid tier mage, shouldn't it be for another 2 years?" Mew said. He too is confused.

"Gulf passed those tests a long time ago" Mo Fan said like it was the basic thing to know. It confused Mew, why Gulf have taken those tests a long time ago when they're just the same age? it just doesn't add up.

The first duel is for students to out power each other and the second duel will be for a mid tier mage and the student. The student will show their capability and their survival skills to everyone. Gulf is planning to take the test, if he passed it he can advance ranks, it will also help him get resources and it will also let him get closer to his goal, to get his personal information and why it was hidden from him and the reason for his current status.

Mo Fan doesn't know why everyone doesn't seem to remember Gulf, most especially Mew. It is as if he is the only one who can remember Gulf. Mo Fan decides to investigate the issue himself.

They reached the infirmary and Mo Fan lay down the unconscious Gulf on the patient bed. He also briefed the nurse who is also a healing mage on what happened with Gulf.

"Wait... Mo Fan" Mew calls him out. It made the instructor turn his head to Mew. "What do you mean Gulf passed those test a long time ago? You can't take those test until you are 18!" Mew said.

"There's always special cases or exemptions in everything and Gulf is always one of those." Mo Fan said, "Think about it properly Mew, don't you really remember Gulf? don't you really know him?" He added. It just made Mew more confused. Why would he remember Gulf if the first time they've meet is on the first day of class.

Mew decides to set a side the thought and focus at Gulf for the mean time. Gulf's safety is his priority. He doesn't believe everyone who is around him who says Gulf is dangerous, Gulf is the most harmless being he knew. Gulf's the most loving and caring person, he is protective too. There might be a weird aura around him sometimes but it seems not a big deal.

After few hours, Gulf's slowly getting his consciousness back. He saw Mew sleeping beside him in a sitting position. His head is on Gulf's bed and his hand is holding one of Gulf's as if he will leave him. Mew's hair is all over the  and Mew face looks to peaceful, it just makes Gulf want to cherish and love Mew more.

Gulf used his other hand and fix Mew's hair and caress his face. Mew got a soft yet strong figure and Gulf is always comfortable with Mew, Always.
