Lost Queen

Part 6.

"Gulf, let's have a duel." Mew said one time when Gulf's sitting inside the training room, he is just meditating. Gulf suddenly opened his eyes, it has been just two weeks since he passed out and he was told a memory bug was installed in him with conditions.

"You cannot have a duel with someone way out of your league, that's suicide" Zhao said, he is leaning on the door, Gulf turned his gaze to their instructor. A duel is always with conditions but can really be harmful so the rule is you can only have duel of the same rank or just a rank higher than you. If the gap of the two mage is too far, the duel will be voided - that is to avoid casualties. The duel are usually to advance ranks or if someone wants something and wants it to be official or known officially.

"We are classmates, it should be allowed" Mew said and it just made Zhao smirked.

"If you just actually remember him, you won't say that, but sadly we don't" He walks closer to Mew. "If you want to die then by all means go ahead and have a duel with him" He whispered on Mew's ears making the latter widen his eyes.

Before the two starts arguing about him, Gulf spoke. "Why do you want to have a duel with me, Mew?" Curious that he is, it is so sudden that Mew asked for a duel from him, though it's an honour to have a duel with the future king. Mew sometimes joke that he will be defeated if he fights Gulf but why the sudden invitation?

"I want you to withdraw from the duel competition" Mew said. Aside from what Mo Fan said to him, he heard Mo Fan and Gulf talked that it would be dangerous if Gulf still insist to participate in the competition. It can lead to Gulf's death or worst its Mew's. He actually doesn't know what his relation with Gulf joining the competition and why he is included on the condition, he cannot find the relevance but he knows that whatever the reason behind it must be valid. Also, his father - the king, won't just allow him to just die or risk his life.

"I won't withdraw and yeah, we can't duel" Gulf said sternly. Gulf is one of those stubborn person and taking risk might be his middle name.

"But we could" Mo Fan said. He entered the practice room, the three just looked at him and then Zhao's smile slowly forming on his lips.

Mew got confused, Mo Fan is an instructor so his level is way too high, how come that he can have a duel with Gulf.

"I request for a duel with you, Gulf. If I win, you will withdraw from the competition but if you win, you can do whatever you want" Mo Fan said. A duel invitation can't be denied unless reason were valid.

"I..." Gulf sighs, the issue has been a drag but he just won't give up the chance, he is sure that whoever is behind on what happened to him will surely make appearance on the duel event. "I accept"

Mo Fan smiled, he doesn't know what will be the result but he will surely defeat Gulf for his own sake. Someone is manipulating behind the scene and just watching from the shadow, he won't let that persons plan come to reality.

"Let's go to the duel arena then" Mo Fan said, he then starts walking away.

"If you want to win then use all of your strength, I meant it. Everything including what you're hiding" Zhao said before he followed Mo Fan to the duel arena.

Mew is still standing there dumbfounded, he is curious and confused with just everything.

"Gulf...?"

"Save your questions, Mew. I don't have answers either." Gulf said and he walks away. One thing he just want is the safety of Mew, whatever he is planning he will make sure that Mew is safe and will be safe.

Gulf's ambushed by Singto who grabs his shoulder, "Gulf! You're going to have a duel with Mo Fan? How come? An Instructor and student? that isn't allowed!" He blabs, Gulf just ignored him and continue walking. "Hey! I'm talking to you!"

"Yes, I'm going ta have a duel with him and why is it allowed? I don't know" Gulf sassily said, before he left Singto there. He will probably gonna watch the match with Mew.

Gulf enters the duel arena and surprisingly, there's a lot of students and even some instructors who wants to watch the duel. And news sure fly fast because how did they know that they will have a duel there?

Zhao Mangyan will act as the referee and that assures Gulf. He is not confident or he will doubt if it's another person.

Gulf take his stance and stand 10 meters opposite of Mo Fan.

"The fight continues until one of you surrender or incapable of fighting back. No magic that will leave fatal injury. I, Zhao Mangyan, will be your referee. Let this duel... begin!"

The crowd cheers - most of them are chanting Mo Fan's name, after all he is an instructor and got those great reputation and a thousand of mages he defeated. Among those who cheers in the crowd, there two people who is worried for Gulf and there's one who's lurking in the shadows.

Mo Fan cast a basic spell of fire burst and Gulf was able to dodge it perfectly before he cast a lightning strike which was dodge by Mo Fan too. Gulf cast again the lightning strike, it's tier two but Mo Fan still can dodge it easily.

Mo Fan casted a level two fire magic and it's too fast that Gulf unable to dodge it. He got hit but he was able to stand up again and fight back with his Lightning whip - a level two spell. Mo Fan still dodge it using his shadow magic and casted a level 2 shadow spell at Gulf but Gulf was able to break free from it.

Gulf casted a level 3 lightning spell and it caught Mo Fan but he is still unharmed.

The fight went on and on but Gulf just used a lightning spells. Their mana is also running out, Gulf casted a level 2 mind spell. Everyone was shocked how Gulf got or when did he awaken the Mind spell. Before the fight started, Mo Fan said not to use his ice magic since it may trigger his memory and he might lose consciousness during battle.

After the mind spell, Gulf casted a level 3 lightning spell again and it made Mo Fan unable to move.

Mo Fan casted a level four fire magic and it hits Gulf. Gulf spits blood but he still forced himself to stand up. He wants to bet on it all or nothing, he casted a level 5 ice spell and it binds Mo Fan right away.

A minute after Gulf casts the spell, he suddenly went stiff and suddenly went unconscious. It shocked the crowd, Mo Fan rushed to help Gulf since the spell got broken so he went free but before he reached Gulf, Gulf - He vanished again.
