Chapter 9

"Systems are ready. Get ready for battle."

The area was still empty, so Lily got ready. Standing in a barren land with nothing to see except the darkness of the night and the moon as her only light, she listened to what was commanded. Low growls and mechanical sounds were heard as she stood calmly. Maybe this was the fun the man was referring to...

"Are you sure she's ready, boss? the servant asked.

"So, are you questioning my authority, S1? Are you sure you don't want anything to happen to you? Do you?" the masked man threatened.

"No, of course not... hehe?" S1 gulped.

Moments later, R23 appeared with the usual creepy smile. Seeing this, it sent shivers down to S1's spine.

"How's your day, S1?" the bot asked.

"Fine, everything's fine..... fine?" he forced a smile as he chuckled nervously.

"Good! Now don't forget to breathe. I love seeing you breathe..." the bot whispered the last part.

S1 was completely tense when R23 moved close to him. 'Why is this bot so creepily close to me?' he thought.

"Say, did I ever tell you how handsome you are?" R23 whispered.

The poor servant gulped. 'Why does it always have to be me? I want to run away, but I can't. Last time I ran, it dragged me. I'm always lucky something else happens. But now, there's no escape. I do not want to end up like S2...' he thought.

Luckily for him, the countdown started.

"I think boss needs me. Bye..." he said as he walked away nervously.

"Level 1: Start"

Out of nowhere, zombies ran from every direction towards Lily. Looking down from above, S1 watched as he panicked.

"Level 1? You call that Level 1!? That's too hard for the girl!" S1 exclaimed.

"Hush! She's not a normal girl anymore, remember? She's special now. One of the greatest beings Mr. Great has ever made." R23 said as she watched the girl.

"How many Levels are there?" S1 asked.

"There are 6 Levels." R23 replied.

"I can't watch another poor soul die..." S1 whispered as he looked away.

"She can do it. I know she can."

Battle Mode: Activated

A text flashed in Lily's head. She chopped the heads of the running dead mercilessly as they approached towards her. Blood splattered in all directions as she kept on slicing without any emotions shown on her face. After a while, the ground was filled with decapitated cadavers.

"She survived?" S1 asked as he looked below.

Upon seeing the dead bodies lying on the ground, he turned around and almost puked at the sight.

"Oh gosh... I'm not watching this anymore..." he said as he just sat there.

"Level 2: Start"

"What's getting her next?" S1 asked, fearing for what's going to happen.
