"Fictional until further notice."
A sign stated as the facility's personnels gathered around to see what the commotion was about. The staff questioned each other who placed printed papers in front of the glass of their experiments.
"Hello there, my dear people. Would you please care to explain what these are all about?" A man asked as he entered the room in his suit.
Upon hearing his voice, people greeted and made a way for him towards the center of all. Then they started explaining what was happening in which the man responded with a smile.
"Oh, why would you ever make such a big deal over such a small matter?" the man chuckled.
"With all due respect, Mr. Alliveth, you clearly said not to meddle with these ones, yet someone placed an obnoxious sign in front of it." a person who seemed to be in charge of the group responded as he scowled at everyone else.
"There's no need for this situation to escalate any further, Mr. Sheen. This statement is clearly a wonder." he stated as he read the words on the paper over and over again.
"Who's the person who wrote this?" the man asked.
Everyone in the room just hung their heads low, still ashamed of the incident, so the man's face lit up when he thought of an idea.
"Everyone? May I please have your attention?" he politely asked.
"Ugh! I just can't with all these formalities. Just get this over with..." someone mumbled.
As soon as the person said that, everyone's attention were on him, especially his boss.
"Manners, boy!" his co-worker grumbled beside him as he hit him with his elbow, which made him clutch the affected area.
The boss heard this, so he raised an eyebrow and walked towards the two.
"You want me to be informal? Okay then, I won't do it." the man in a suit stated before placing his index finger beneath his right eye and dragged it down slightly as he stuck his tongue out.
His sarcasm confused the people. Some wanted to laugh, but they held it back thinking they might get fired. Some wanted to go to a corner in shame. And some were just generally confused.
The "ugh" guy ducked his head in shame as he threw his hands in the air and sighed in defeat.
"Ugh! Fine! I admit I did it! I was too excited for those seven to be real, but besides that, I was just too bored, so I thought I'd just slap some sign onto the glass. You can fire me if you want. But pleeease! Just stooop, Mr. Alliveth Sir Whatever!" the "ugh" guy admitted.
A smile tugged at the corner of Mr. Alliveth's lips as he heard the confession and stood properly.
"Why would I ever fire you?" he asked.
The guy's confused coworkers looked at each other again and back at their boss.
"You're not?"
"No."
"Why?"
"Because."
"Understandable. Have a nice day." the "ugh" guy released a breath and left the room, only to come back in again and listen to the boss.
"Wait, why am I here again?" he asked, yet no one answered as they turned their heads back at Mr. Alliveth.
"Fictional until further notice. That would be a great catchphrase for the fans of these characters, especially when they are about to become real." he ignored the guy's question and looked at the rest of them.
"You all deserve a raise! Especially you, 'ugh' guy. Let's celebrate!" he boomed.
He smiled, leaving the "ugh" guy regretting his life decisions and looked at everyone in the room. The people somehow felt relief that he didn't become disappointed. All their hard work had actually been paid off.
With the "ugh" guy getting out first, most of the staff thanked their boss before setting out to leave, each with a smile on their faces.
Just as the last person was about to leave, he looked back.
"Oh? Mr. Sheen? Are you not going off to celebrate?" the boss asked the person who looked back with a smile.
"You're not coming with us?"
The boss just smiled and slowly shook his head. "I'm going to follow after. For now, I'll just admire the wonderful creations of our amazing people."
Mr. Sheen nodded his head and went, taking another quick glance at their boss looking at him before actually leaving.
Now alone in the room filled with silence, the boss turned his back and faced the seven creations. He walked in front of them, footsteps echoing in the room as multiple colors of light illuminated in different cases.
Each of them were encased behind huge glass pods enough to fit a human. Yet, only these aren't human. They were created to be like humans, but they weren't.
He walked past them, each having a different glow from behind their back. The first one had a simple white, the second red, third green, fourth blue that turns to gold then back, the fifth had light pink which faded to blue then back at pink again, sixth orange, and seventh.
Seventh.
What just happened?
The seventh one had a dim unknown color of lighting behind her. As the person in a suit stepped in front of it the glow illuminated in bright pink. The man furrowed his eyebrows as the lighting faded to blue when he got closer.
The lights behind the seventh frequently changed from pink to blue, but at times, the man caught it purple. But the more he looked closely, he could see it red and white at a shorter time period.
He stepped back from their creation's lights to prevent straining his eyes any further and let out a sigh.
"You all are finally getting real. May you all be held in a special place in their hearts and have their backs one day."
He then smiled to himself as he read the note once more.
"Fictional until further notice."
