☺︎︎ Chapter Five

Jeno groans when he opens his eyes and immediately sits up, the small headache didn't help either.

He didn't drink any alcohol especially since he wasn't planning on it (too busy looking for his fated partner) but, yeah he has a headache.

Speaking of alcohol, what did happen at Mark's birthday party last night? All he could remember is getting his best friend a drink and some chips for himself before bumping into someone and blacking out–

Oh.

"Ouch!" He yelped when he pushed back down to lay on the bed as his pillow hits the back of his head.

Well even if said object is soft and fluffy, it can still hurt you know?

That sounded weird out of context but whatever.

"Lay back down! You're injured!" A honey voice scolded frantically, said voice he knows is Haechan's.

He blinks and squints his eyes to focus on the face that was inches away from his own, pair of eyes scanning him observantly and strictly.

"Calm down, he's injured, not sick." Another voice said that made Jeno tilt his head to the side and see Mark waving at him curtly as he sighed at his boyfriend.

Haechan clicked his tongue, "exactly! Our poor child is hurt! I'm seriously going to kill that bastard!" He started rambling and stood up clutching onto his locks of hair.

Mark walks over to help his best friend since childhood to sit up on the bed and lay back against the headboard.

"How are you feeling?" He asked giving the younger a glass of water to help his headache go away.

Jeno immediately downs the whole drink and burps, "excuse me." He mumbled shyly with his cheeks heating up from embarrassment.

Mark only chuckled at him and takes the glass placing it on the nightstand as Haechan was pacing around the room grumbling about this strange dude.

"I'm okay, but my eye hurts." Jeno pouted answering the previous question of his best friend.

The raven haired boy pursed his lips, "that's because you have a black eye." He points out and accidentally stabs the younger's eyeball with his index finger.

"Ouch!" The brunet yelped and covered his left eye that was bruised up from someone's bare hard knuckles.

Mark immediately mumbled a few apologies as Jeno was telling him it was fine and he didn't mean it anyway, meanwhile; "I'm seriously going to jail for this."

They both turned to look at Haechan holding one of Bongsik's cat toys that looked like a fishing rod with a small blue feather as bait. "What are you going to do with that?" Mark asked in suspicion.

Haechan eyed the cat toy and said, "If I can't stab him myself, then I'll lure Bongsik to attack that bitch for me."

Jeno huffed, "Bongsik wouldn't do such a mean thing." He said glancing at said cat who was peacefully sleeping on the very top of her cat tree.

"Unless you tell her to."

"Haechan!" Mark scolded and glanced at Jeno who rolled his eyes.

Haechan shrugged at them, not minding the scoldings and look they gave him. "What?"

"I just want to get some revenge on that asshole, like seriously! How dare he go to your party and punch your best friend who's like your brother." He grumbled.

Mark only sighed at him, "it's not a problem anymore. The boys led him outside and I ended the party because Jeno is passed out with a black eye on the floor and we had to drive him back here."

"Who even invited him! I never seen that asshole before and he looks like one of those older kids or something." Haechan said as he twirls the string of Bongsik's cat toy.

"Lucas did, I told you he invited a lot of people and that guy was one of those dudes who hangout outside of the school building." His boyfriend explained.

"Who was he anyway?" Jeno mumbled out as Bongsik yawned before climbing down of her cat tree and jumps onto her owner's lap.

"I just told y'all–"

"No, I meant what was his name?" The brunet boy said caressing his pet cat's fur who purred at the familiar touch while Mark was still glaring at her.

Mark hummed pondering in thought before answering, "I think it was Na Jaemin? I'm not sure, we can ask Lucas if you want."

"Oh yes please, so I can track that dumbfuck down and burn him alive." Haechan said with a craze look in his eyes.

"Just leave him be, Channie." Jeno said softly to which Haechan widened his eyes at with a gasp.

"Excuse me? No way in fuck am I letting that dongus get away with this! Especially with that ugly mark he left on your precious eye." He said.

"It was my fault, I bumped into him and I probably pissed him off." The brunet stated trying to ease his friend's temper down.

"Yeah and it will be his fault for doing that to you because he pissed me off!" Haechan remarks.

"To settle this once and for all, we can all ask Lucas and meet Jaemin at school. He can apologize and Haechan can warn him." Mark suggested thoughtfully.

"Can I kill him too?" Haechan asked with hope in his eyes as the two boys glared at him.

"No."

"Please don't."

He then exaggerated a pout as he sighed, "aww man. I thought I could kill him and be like: yes bitch, I killed him." He stated.

Mark only rolled his eyes as Bongsik meowed at them, he turns his head to glare at the feline who only blinks at him.

"You piece of–"

"Mark hyung don't be mean~" the brunet boy sitting beside him scolds softly and cuddles his pet cat with his cheek squishing against her fur.

The raven haired boy huffed and crossed his arms as Haechan was still holding a grudge on this Jaemin dude who gave their poor friend a black eye.

"You should really put some more ice on that." Haechan said walking over and plopping down on the bed next to Jeno's legs.

"Is it really swollen? Does it look that bad?" Jeno asked worriedly and picks up his phone ignoring the unread messages and notifications as he looks at himself on the camera.

Mark shook his head, "it's not that swollen and bad anymore, but y'know." He made some weird hand gestures trying to reassure his best friend.

Jeno hums with his lips pursed together as he sighed, "did I atleast find my soulmate yet?" He whispered with his voice croaked.

The couple looked at each other and gave a sad look feeling bad for their friend, "we're sorry... We're not entirely sure if he was even there..." Mark said softly.

Jeno only nodded stiffly and looks down feeling disappointed at that.

"My dear soulmate, can we meet sooner than later?"
