"oh thank God you're back, Bongsik tried killing me again while I was doing homework." Mark said standing up from his seat on Jeno's couch.

"Bongsik is just trying to play. She's not mean." Jeno said defending his pet cat, who greeted him with a purr once she rubs herself around his leg.

He smiled in return, picking up the feline into his arms and giving a small kiss on her head, earning another loving purr.

"Whatever," Mark grumbled still glaring at Bongsik who didn't even look at him, too busy getting herself comfortable in her owner's arms and the affection she was being spoiled with.

Jeno heads over towards the couch, plopping down beside his best friend while still carrying Bongsik like she's the most precious lil thing in his world. She is.

"Now tell me what happened with Na Jaemin, did he do something? What did he say?" The raven haired boy began to interrogate his best friend.

Jeno watches him pick up his pencil again and proceeded to finish this goddamn Literature homework that was due tomorrow.

Who the fuck assigns their students to write a whole ass 5 pages of homework and expects them to immediately finish it by the next day?

Apparently adults who expect a lot from young kids.

"Well, according to what my gay radar was sensing from him... He doesn't like the idea of... Us. Atleast." The brunet answered with his tone light as if this wasn't a big deal.

Mark stops writing on his stupid essay while messing up the next word, making the writing look bad. Turning to face the younger abruptly with his eyes wide, "what the fuck?" He gapes.

"What do you mean he doesn't like the idea of you two? You guys are soulmates!" He continued to exclaim.

"Actually, he doesn't think we are." Jeno mumbled while caressing Bongsik's head gently.

"What?!"

"He said it's just a black eye that he gave me and I should stop bothering him about it being my soulmate mark, I think I made him mad but that's okay." He shrugged.

Mark couldn't blink properly, before he exhales deeply and clicked his tongue. "I'm calling Haechan."

"Wait! Don't call him, why are you calling him? Jaemin didn't even do anything!" Jeno exclaimed grabbing Mark by the shoulder and pulling him back weakly.

The elder grunts by the action while earning a yowl from Bongsik, he glared at the feline before answering the brunet. "Not yet, but I just– I don't know Jen, Jaemin seems... Dangerous? In a way."

"But he's still my soulmate, and don't just assume something about him when you barely even know him too." The younger retorts with his eyebrows knitted together.

Mark raised his hands in the air as a sign of defense, "I'm just saying...." He said with a look and shifts his gaze to the side, avoiding eye contact with the younger.

Jeno rolled his eyes at him, "I'm not giving up, you know." He said standing up from his spot on the couch and placing Bongsik down on the floor.

Mark made a 'huh' sound and followed his gaze on the brunet, walking towards the nearby kitchen to probably start making dinner.

He hesitates to follow the younger when he glances down to Bongsik on the floor licking her paws leisurely before proceeding to move towards her hind legs.

He ignores her and stood up anyways, walking into the kitchen of Jeno's small apartment, leaving his Literature homework that's due tomorrow on the coffee table.

Watching his best friend grab some ingredients for the food he's planning to make for them, he spoke up. "Why aren't you bothered by this?"

"By what?" Jeno asked dumbfounded as he started to boil the water for the pasta.

"By... This," Mark gestures with his hand. "He doesn't like the idea of soulmates, specifically with you, no offense."

"None taken."

"Anyway, he's basically being rude about it. Jeno, I don't think he's a good guy." Mark continued leaning his back against the counter.

"All of the newcomers in my life, you always analyze them if they're some kind of evil monster or whatever." The brunet chuckled.

"Well, of course. I'm like your protective big brother." The raven haired boy said proudly to himself, obviously getting cocky about the small title.

Jeno rolled his eyes with a silly smile on his face, "then, as your little brother, I suggest you to calm down and don't do anything when there's nothing to fret about."

Mark opens his mouth to say something before quickly getting interrupted by Jeno, "and don't call Haechan."

"But–"

"Markue hyung," the younger drawls cutely adding a small pout. "I'm fine, okay? Jaemin isn't dangerous. As his soulmate, I can feel it."

"Bu–"

"So let it go," he dismissed. "I'm not giving up wether you or Haechan or– anyone likes it or not." He stated.

The raven haired boy pursed his lips hearing his determination about his current love crisis, is it even a crisis? Jeno seems okay with it. And he's not whining about it.

But still, Mark is also determined to make sure his little brother figure is 100% good and not getting into trouble. Especially with that Na Jaemin dude.

"How are you so sure there's still a chance? I mean, meeting your soulmate like this or having one like Jaemin, and making it work is... Difficult and rare." He mumbled.

"Plus," he paused lightly. "You said it yourself, your gay radar sensed him being a dickhead."

"I didn't say he was dickhead, hyung. Don't begin to twist my words with yours," Jeno said turning off the stove and began to drain the noodles.

"Fine," Mark sulks crossing his arms. "But still, I'm confused on what you're really thinking." He said.

Laughing, Jeno shrugged lightly as he finishes the pasta making Mark remember his huge appetite tonight and how he really just wants the whole meal for himself.

Ignoring the grumbling of Mark's stomach and the latter's embarrassed chuckle while scratching his nape, the brunet smiled.

"My gay radar also said, he doesn't like the idea of us because he's probably in denial."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"But that's okay! Anyways, pasta is ready."

"My dear soulmate, it's okay."
