☺︎︎ Chapter Twenty-Seven

"by the way, I haven't asked you," Mark paused as they walked down the hallway, heading towards the gym for his basketball practice. "What did you do at the full moon night thing?"

His question almost made Jeno stumble on his way, forcing out a cough behind his fist and pretending that it was the slippery floor's fault.

"Oh, uhm I was just playing with Bongsik and fell asleep." He shrugged off, patting himself on the back mentally when Mark just nodded at him.

"Also, you're asking me this now that it's been four days." He added with a teasing tone, the raven haired boy rolling his eyes at him and lightly bumps their hips.

It's been four days since the full moon, since Jaemin's secret of being a vampire was out, since Jeno offered him a deal on being the elder's blood meal or whatever anytime, since they've both been seeing each other a lot.

Mainly because Jeno likes being walked home by Jaemin, he feels protected and comfortable with the elder by his side at every step of the way towards his apartment.

And he really likes it when Jaemin gives in, or sometimes getting dragged by the arm, to stay for a while before leaving after a few minutes.

He feels some kind of progress with his vampire of a soulmate.

"Are you sure you can walk home alone?" Mark, as always, asked in a worried tone while his hand was on the door handle, ready to open it.

Jeno let's out a huff, "yes Markue hyung, I can. And I won't be alone, Jaemin hyung is probably outside by now." He calmly reassures the elder.

The raven haired boy seems to not be reassured whatsoever after hearing his friend's supposed soulmate's name. "Will he take you home immediately?"

Snorting, Jeno places a hand on the elder's shoulder, "hyung, Jaeminnie hyung always takes me home immediately. Don't worry about him luring me into some kind of abandoned building." He deadpanned.

Mark pursed his lips, feeling hesitant on Jeno being with this Jaemin kid. The mysterious boy just gives him a weird vibe. And that's a big red flag for him.

It really feels like he's handing his son over to someone else, a lover maybe, and he can't really trust that person, no matter what his son blabbers on about.

"Christ, hyung. Stop worrying about me so much right now, worry about your team and the game. The basketball competition is getting near, right?" The younger hums.

With a nod, Jeno rubs Mark's shoulder gently. "Then do that first, maybe you can come back worrying about me again afterwards. Also, talk to your boyfriend, it's getting annoying now."

The last part made Mark groan, "deal with him later, that asshole won't do shit anyway."

"It's been four days, I have hope." Jeno chirps, "the longest argument you guys had was 6 months."

Sighing, Mark only gave a small nod before opening his arms out for a hug. The younger gladly accepting it and waving goodbye afterwards as he skips along towards the exit.

Walking out, he immediately spots, not surprised, Jaemin standing near the gate with his hands in his pockets.

Without further a do, Jeno runs up to him and kissed his cheek. Again.
